From Major-General ROSENTHAL:--
" We hold junction of Boche trenches, U.5.d. 0 S. of our Corps
" boundary. - We are holding that junction. - We are occupying
" SYRIA Trench from there Eastward up to where the road through
"MONUMENT WOOD cuts our boundary in 6.c. (about 500 yards.). -The E.
"end of SYRIA Trench is very shallow and we cant occupy it. -
"We have posts just beyond the road, up as far as 6. central.-
"We are joining back from 6.central, through U.^.b. to the old
"Boche system, now our system, at the railway line at O.36.d.(about_
"5.0.
"We have 2 prisoners. - We are still fighting at the S.W. corner
"in U.5.d - General WISDOM is making a connection across NO MAN'S
"LAND from the junction of the trenches in U.5.d. towards our international
post.- He will consolidate on the line I have given
"you tonight."
