Moderation Policy

All content on this website is governed by this moderation policy and is managed by the Australian War Memorial. 

Moderation is the review of user generated content and the decision to publish, edit or delete the content or at times to engage with users of the website. 

Text deemed unsuitable is identified programmatically by the transcription platform or by volunteer transcribers/editors and marked for manual review by the Memorial. Moderation of the website aims to ensure that content is appropriate, suitable and does not cause offence. This is to stop spammers and wilful offenders from vandalising the transcription platform. Repeated offenders may be permanently blocked from transcribing or reviewing on the platform. 

The Memorial has the final authority to mark a transcription final.
