Captured Hamel Village also Vaire and Hamel
Woods aaa We are consolidating a new line
east of those localities, representing an advance
immediately South of the Somme averaging 1½
miles on a frontage of over 4 miles aaa He also
attacked at same hour just South of the Ancre
and captured enemy front system defences on a frontage
of 1200 yards and a depth of 400 yards aaa
