Sir John Monash, Personal Files Book 16, 3 September - 9 October 1917, Part 13
Headquarters,
Second Army.
3rd October, 1917
My dear General
Just a line to wish you and your splendid
Division the best of luck in tomorrow's battle which will
be the biggest of the war. No finer Divisions have ever
been launched and I am sure they are going to give the
Boche the biggest knock he has ever had. We shall be
thinking of your so much.
All good luck and don't answer.
Yours sincerely,
CH Harrington.
