1. The Division will move, on Tuesday next, to BULFORD FIELD northeast 
of BULFORD to rehearse the arrangements for Inspection by His Majesty 
the King on Wednesday next, in accordance with the March Table No. 1 
attached. It will return to barracks in accordance with March Table 
No. 2 also attached. 

2. Brigade markers etc. will be on the ground in accordance with 
instructions to be issued later. 

3. Watches will be synchronized by reference to Divisional Headquarters 
between 7 and 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning next. 

4. The Orders for Wednesday next will be published later.

REVIEW OF A. & N. Z. TROOPS BY HIS MAJESTY THE KING,

On the Ground between the NINE MILE RIVER and

the Five Plantations on BULFORD FIELD.

(ii). N. B:- References are  to the Manual of Ceremonial Amendment,
1st June, 1914.

1. ORDER OF FORMATION:-

(a) Facing North.

On the right of the line Third Australian Division in the 
following order:-

Artillery and D.  A. C.

9th Infantry Brigade.

10th Infantry Brigade.

11th Infantry Brigade.

Pioneer Battalion.

A.S.C. in one Formation.

Field Ambulances.

(b) In centre of the line: Troops of the Australian Training
Centres.

(c) On left of the Line: Troops of the New Zealand Training
Centres.

(d) The Bands will be massed in rear of the centre of the 
entire line.

2. The Troops will be drawn up as follows:-

  1. ARTILLERY:

    On the right
    of the line.

    In Line of Brigades in Column of Batteries; i.e.,
    on a Battery frontage, one line of guns with 
    wagons in line in rear of these.
    INFANTRY:

    Battalions in line of a Half Battalion frontage.

    Each half of a Battalion in mass; (vide Infantry
    Training, page 93).

    Right half Battalion in front of left half
    Battalion.

    INTERVALS:- Between Companies... 4 yards.

                                    "          Battalions... 8 yards.

                                     "         Brigades... 10 yards.

    Distances      Between Platoons.... 7 yards.

                                      "        Companies... 12 yards.

3. INSPECTION: - The Commander of the Parade will be in front of
the centre of the entire line. Brigadiers, or their
equivalent, will be forty paces in front of the centre of
their commands, (vide para 89), the Commander of the 
Parade 30 paces in advance of Brigadiers, etc., (vide
paras: 89, 90, 117, 119.

When His Majesty leaves the left of the line to 
proceed to the Saluting Point, the massed Bands will move

through the line to their new Station by the left of the
Third Australian Division.

MARCH PAST:

(a) The Massed Bands will take up their position
opposite the Saluting Point and 100 yards distant
from it.

(b) The Artillery will march past by Batteries.

Infantry will march past in Column of Platoons
at 10 yards distance.

There will be 20 yards between Battalions.

40 yards between Brigades.

Other Arms will march past in analogous formation,
(Vide Paras: 118, 120, General Officers
and Officers Commanding Units will fall out
after passing the Saluting Point).

5. After the March Past, the Artillery will form up facing West on
the Ground east of wired enclosure about Point 260.

The other Arms will continue their march until within Platoon
distances of the MILSTON ---- BULFORD road when they will change
direction Left.

On the leading Platoon reaching the wired enclosure about Point
260, Half Companies will be formed and will halt and right turn.
Remainder will conform in succession. His Majesty will pass 
the line thus formed on his way to BULFORD and will be cheered 
by Units in turn.

The Bands will separate after the March Past and take up their
position behind their respective units.

6. COMMANDS AND SIGNALS: Bayonets will be fixed and Officers
posted in review order by Brigade Commanders.

The following will be given as "CAUTIONS" by the Parade
Commander:-

PARADE WILL SLOPE ARMS.

ROYAL SALUTE.

PARADE WILL SLOPE ARMS.

PARADE WILL ORDER ARMS AND STAND
AT EASE.

These "Cautions" will be repeated by all Commanders, and
passed on by Mounted Officers.

Immediately that the caution has been given, the bugle will
sound one "G", and the Divisional Lance will be held aloft.
Upon this being done Unit Commanders will give the command
except the final executionve word, which will be given by
them when the Lance is lowered after the bugle has sounded
a second "G" to attract attention.

7. Brigade Staff Officers, etc., and Markers will meet the Senior
Staff Officer detailed for charge of the ground opposite
the Saluting Point at 12-30 p.m. on Tuesday, and
8-45 a.m. on Wednesday.

8. MISCELLANEOUS:-

(a) Platoons will be equalized and sized.

(b) Men with Caps will be placed in the rear rank.

9. The remainder of the day following the Rehearsal and Review on
the 26th and 27th will be observed as a Holiday.

Para: 7. Read Brigade Staff Officers etc. and Brigade Markers.

Para: 2. INFANTRY: Substitute:-

"Right Half Battalion on the Right of Left Half
Battalion".

 

Para: 4. With reference to the last Sentence, Para: 4 (b):-

(1) Brigadier-Generals and Officers of Equivalent Status.

(2) Artillery Brigade Commanders.

(3) Infantry Battalion Commanders, and Officers of
Equivalent Status in other Arms, including Staff
Officers of the Rank of Lieut-Colonel.

 

A.A. & Q.M.G. Third Australian Division, will act
as Marshal.

 

An enclosure will be reserved to the Right of Saluting
Point, into which Officers will turn. Horse-

holders, provided by the O. C., Divisional Train,
will be in readiness to take charge of Horses.
Officers will dismount and form up by Brigades etc.,
in readiness to move to the Saluting Point when called
for presentation to His Majesty. The same order
will be preserved as on the Inspection Parade.

 

Para: 5. With regard to Para 5, last sentence, add: - 

 

BANDS:- All Bands of the 3rd Australian Division, together
with two Bands of the Australia Training Centre and
one Band of the N. Z. Training Centre, will be massed under
Command of Lieut. J. L. Fry, 33rd Battalion, A. I. F.

The Senior Band-Master, Warrant Officer T. Young,
5th Training Battalion, will allocate Bands to play:-

 

x (1) Royal Salute (four bars).

(2) Inspection March.

(3) March Past of each Brigade Group.

For the last sentence in Para: 5, substitute "The Bands\will
remain massed until after the departure of His Majesty".

 

Then the Bands will follow the course of His Majesty in the
order of units and take up their station on the road opposite
the head of the Unit ready to march home.  Lieut.
Fry, and Warrant Officer Young, will attend the G. O. C's
Conference at Third Australian Divisional Headquarters,
at 9-30 a.m. 26th instant.

 

INSPECTION: As His Majesty approaches the right of the line, all
Mounted Officers will move forward three horses lengths.

Commanding Officers will not move to the right of their
Commands, except in the case of the Officers Commanding the
A. & N.Z. Training Centres respectively.

Each Unit will come to "Attention" (NOT the "Slope")
as His Majesty approaches, and will "Stand at Ease"
after he has passed, by Order of its Commanding Officer.
