PRRSRE.L. The X Inf pde covered by Y Squadron A.L.H. advance south west from ISMAILLA along the ISMAILLA CENAL to NIFISHA thence (via Railway Bridge over Canal) on a bearing of170 to BE JUSEE ATIYA After crossing the EL WADI DRAIN our mounted patrols cane in contact with the enemy patrols and take up a position on the southern banks of the Draindue south of EZ YUSEE ArIYE to cover the infentry while crossing.
2 PRISE II. The enemy are found to be occupying a ridge about 1200 yards south of crossing and it is decidedto attack and drive them out of the position and hold it until our reinforcements arrive. The 14th and 94th Bns to act as firing line and support: 95th and 96th Bns in Rescrve. The 14th Battalion to advance on a bearing of 165 from Crossing and attack frontage allotted from top of Knoll to 600 x cast of same. Oath Bn on same bearing and frontage from tep of Knewl to 600 = West of same. Mounted troops to remain in the hands of the Brigadier for use on either flank.
APTERNOON SCHEYE. Phase.IIl. Enemy reinforcenents arri ve and nake a determined attack on our position forcing us to evacuate same and fight a rearguard action back t o the crossing south of EL IUSEE ATIYQ, wheref another attenpt is made to hold the enemy this time with success, and the position is entrenched.
