Summary of events from 6 a.m. 24th August to 6 a.m. 25th August 1915
NO. 3 SECTION
All quiet during the above period.
NO. 4 SECTION
Nothing unusual to report.
NO. 5 SECTION
The patrol sent out on the night 23rd/24th August by the
8th Cheshire Regiment to the road West of the FARM found the
track undisturbed, apparently since last occupied by us, as
equipment still scattered about.
Another party went out to disturb any Turk working-parties
which might be found near the FARM.
A standing patrol was found in the scrub South West of the
FARM, and driven off by fire.

NO. 6 SECTION
The communication Trench to SUSAK KUYU was advanced about
450 yards.
SUSAK KUYU has been well protected by wire - also the front
of the 19th Battalion, 5th Australian Infantry Brigade.
The right of the centre sub-section on the KAIAJIK AGHALA
was badly knocked about yesterday afternoon by high explosive,
but was repaired and improved in the night.
A Trench Mortar was used with good effect in stopping the
enemy's works.
ARTILLERY
At 7 a.m. yesterday, the 4th (Howitzer) Battery engaged
enemy guns on the Eastern slopes of the "W" Hills, apparently
with good effect. These are some of the guns which shell
SUVLA BAY.
The 2nd Battery kept the guns near "Q" under observation
and replied to them whenever they opened fire

ORDERS FOR N0. 6 SECTION BY MAJOR-GENERAL H.V.COX, C.B.C.S.I., COMDG.

(1) MEDICAL. First aid post of 10th, 6th and 5th Gurkhas will move
forward at dusk this evening to the line held by these regiments.
Advanced dressing station (on left) from 108 Indian Field Ambulance will x(2)x to be located behind hill at rear No. 6 Section Hd. Qrs. this evening.
(2) COMMUNICTIONS. No troops whatever will bivouac or halt in the
communication trench between No. 6 Section Hd. Qrs and old No.3 Picquet
where covered road to SUSAK KUYU takes off.
(3) O.C. No.3 Sub-Section will arrange to push forward the covered road
to SUSAK KUYU as rapidly as possible.
A branch communication trench is also to be constructed under his
orders, from about junction of squares 92, b, c, h, i, into, line of trenches
held by 6 th Gurkhas, as soon as possible.
(4) SPECIAL. There is still a great deal to be done, especially in
Nos. 1 & 2 Sub-Sections, in clearing the ground of rifles. equipment,
stores, etc., and of burying rubbish, old tins, etc., etc..
The ample troops in reserve in these sub-sections are to be freely
employed on this work, and it must be completed at once.

Yes, trench is plainly visible to can be enfiladed by at least three of my
machine guns, but range is rather long 1700 to 1800
yards. AAA Have already frequently fired on this
trench. AAA. Do you desire this cooperation at any
particular hour.
