Saps in No. 3 Section now ready
for coupling up, but additional sand
bags necessary before work can be
gone on with satisfactorily. Sap in
No 4 Sector deepened. Timber required
for well at foot of No 1 Sector - to timber
up eight feet. Well is 5' x 2'. More
sandbags required on No 1 Sector.
G.O.C. 4th Inf Bde & Capt Locke
visited Post 1000.
Heavy fire on Chunuk Bair
2030 - but cause could not be
ascertained. Heavy fire in front
of Post 0400 to 0515, Turks
apparently fearing attack.
Diarrhoea very prevalent - a
supply of disinfectant has been
requisitioned but not received.
Arrangements made for bringing
up packs kits etc. from Reserve Gully
