SETIOR MILITAPY OFFICER OF TEF CONVOY. 1. - The Senior Military Officer regrets to announce the DEATH. death of No. 1159, Pte. Charles Hawthorn Scott Meharry, ("A. 32"). ist Reinforcements, 11th Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade, which occurred on Transport 'A. 32", at sea, on 18th instant (Pneumonia). 2. - The Senior Military Officer places on record his UNAUTHORISED displeasure at the manner in which Troops were allowed ABSENCE FROM leave without authority a number of the Transports in TRANSP Colombo Harbour on 14th and 15th instantt and proceed ashore. This regrettable incident cannot but be regarded as a serious reflection upon the organization and discipline of the transports concerned. The Senior Wilitary Officer, while feeling sure that offenders will be adequately dealt with for their conduct in bringing discredit upon the Convoy, looks to reppective O's. C. Troops in futurento adopt such measures as will prevent a recurrence. - The undermentioned officers have been detailed for SPECIAL DOTY : TRANSPORT"A.38".speoial duty on Transport "A. 38' 13th Battalion. I have examined with great interest/three papers on above prepared by Lieutenants Fuhrmann, Binnie and Crabbe, and note with satisfaction the evidences of careful thought and recognition of their responsibilities in training bthese Officers.
