Monte Vides Canp. Weymouth. Fet. 21st. monday neght Dear Mother Well we are leaving to night & we are bound for Eygpt as wer have jhst been topd if sure this afternoon by our major, te ane goin to rejain our old funtis. You will now know how to address m tetters the same as you usedto when I was in Eygpt last When I say we leaving tonight it night be early morning we are due tto leave thiss camp at midnight but there is bound to be a bit of delay as per ueual with the armes The weather down here this last weekend has been rotten it has been nothing but rain, rain, rain
my ho & day without of stopping once & as of set here now it is commg down in bucket fulls. By the way, the train I caught last night was enaugh to send ofe mad, it ltWaterloo about minutes late but when it got to Weymouth it was not miater but 2 hours it was due in at 2.50 but did not arrive until 6.50. & I got to the pamp at reeatly 5 oclock this morning, I trobed into bed at his had to gat up at eight again & shall gatt no sleep tonight so you can geso I shall enjoy tomorrow nights sleep thats if its not wo rugh. You see I am enclosing my best tume as it will be norgood to me in Engpt as it will be fepalt in less than a week in that place I am also enclosing the torch & you can send it on to me later on. Wiell have not much move to

midnight last mon (21st) night well we did & I can & say we had a very good send off we traveled all night + lymouth in the arrived at morning (Tues) (& aboard ship & away at about meslday. a he boat we are on to very poor as well as the the worstI Tooel, wel but there have been on yet, its all in ax life time. I have not much more Well to say only I hope you received my tunic & orch safely & that you will foreand on loven as soon us

Feb 21st
Monday night

Dear Mother
Well we are leaving tonight
& we are bound for Eygpt as
we have just been told for sure
this afternoon by our Major, we are
goin to rejoin our old untis.
You will now know how to address
my letters the same as you used to
when I was in Eygpt last.
When I say we are leaving tonight
it might be early morning, we are
due to leave this camp at midnight
but there is bound to be a bit of
delay as per usual with the army.
The weather down here this last
weekend has been rotten it has
been nothing but rain, rain, rain

 

night & day without st stopping
once & as I sit here now it is
coming down in bucket fulls.
By the way, the train I caught last
night was enough to send one mad, it
is true it left Waterloo about 5
minutes late but when it got to
Weymouth it was not 5 minutes
but 2 hours it was due in at 2.50
but did not arrive until 4.50 &
I got to the camp at exactly 5 oclock
this morning, I turned into bed at but
had to get up at eight again &
I shall get no sleep tonight so you
can gess I shall enjoy tomorrowe
nights sleep thats if its not too
rugh.
You see I am enclosing my best
tunic as it will be no good to me
in Eygpt as it will be spoilt in
less than a week in that place I am
also enclosing the torch & you can
send it on to me later on.
Well I have not much more to

 

so I will now close hoping one
& all are well at home as I am my self

Well
you see I am on the water after
all, we are just about to 
enter Gibraltar & the wether
we are having here is splendid
ever since the trip started
in fact there is no sea at
all.  My self I we and am
in pink of condition & I
on hope all are same at
home.
You remember I said we
were leaving Weymouth at

morning (Tues) & aboard ship

The boat we are on is
very poor as well as the
food, well the worst I
have been on yet, but there

safely & that you will
forward on torch as soon as

 

possible with a parcel with
something to eat in it.
It seams very that only
