Dec 23rd.

Dear Mother & Father,
Onother change
has taken place as you can see
I am out of Australia now to
Egypt or England.  You will
remeber that in my last letter
that I told you I was in a training
Depot & would not be leving
for 6 months at least well so I
was untill about 3 days before
the 14 Battanion sailed they wanted
6 men for H Company so they
called for 6 volenters from the
Depot so up jumped about
70 out of 2,000 of us so
out of 70 they th had to
pick the six smartest of us
& so I was luckey enough to
be one of them.  Well now I may
be with you in a few months
or I may go to Egypt & I may
never see you again but still

I

as long as I can see a few of thoese
Germans I shall be satisfied.
I am writing this letter & the
ship is tiping a bit I can tell
& I am just on the verge of
bringing some of my tea up.

sending you a little present
in this letter which I surpose
will come in handy in these
hard times.  You will not send
any more letters to Australia
of corse & those that are on
the way I will get all right
for Mrs Dowsing is sending
them on to mee.  My address
will be. Pte. Antill. 1228. H Comp
14th Batt. 4th Brigade. A.I.F
England. Don't think that becouse

we shall land there because the first
