Dear Mother
I have just been up before the
head for furlough & have passed & shall be
home on Monday for a fortnight & if luckey
a few days more. I shant be home this week
end as I have one or two to see down this
part of the world before I go. Have been
having a good time lately & in one way I am
sorry I am leaving this place as it is
a home but what will furlough be like
a fortnight without and body to worry
about. Well I have not much more to say
as I shall by home before long so I
will now close hoping one & all are
well at home as I am my self
I remain
Your loving son
Bob.

Dear Mother,
As you can see by the address that
they have packed me off here.
Its not a bad place but leave is not
plentiful, but there its no good grumbling
for it wont improve things will it.
We can get as far a Woolwich every
night, but gain a long distance like
North London we have to get a pass.
Well we got a week end leave every 5
weeks which lasts 2 days.
Had a great time last night, I went
into Woolwich & met a girl who has
got an Aunt living in Fairfax Rd.
Harringay, & at one time this girl
used to work at Vaughams at the Grand
Parade as a full blown milliner but now
she works in Regents St.
This place is very much the same as
Woodcote Park only the beds are not
half so good, we have straw beds on the
floor & 4 blankets, & I can tell you we
can almost do with 44.
I will now close hoping one & all are
well at home as I am my self.
I remain
Your loving son
Bob.
