on mg. of Aug. 31 & marched

across Feuilleres Ridge

& past Clery.  Germ

ws shelling / canal &

dropping water all over –

& also Clery heavily.

They made a detour

to avoid Clery. (Bn had

abt 500 incl. Hqrs at this

time – left out nucleus).

Had abt 20 casualties

before reached assembly

positns behind 2nd Div

beyond Clery . ( 2000-3000

yds E of Clery)
