Americans lost a Corporal & a
couple of men near there.
The Germ. Captn ws temply in/c
of his Bn. When asked he guessed there
were 100,000 Americans in France &
ws confident of victory. They wd
say nothing of / orders for / raid, &
passed them the papers off as of no value. But
as they went out / Captain
asked the Aspirant & / others roughly
in German: What did you say? Did
you tell them anything? One of the our
men there understood German
So it ws known tt / orders
were important.
15 Bn ws relieved by USA
troops by 1.15 a.m. They left
one offr per Coy & one N.C.O. per
pln w / Americans for 24 hrs.
by Bde orders.

2 field guns.
& abt 400 prisoners
(incl. 30 officers).
(More prisoners than men
attacking).
