51 Stuarts death wd the first for 24 hrs; the next casualty ws one of our 18pors amongt 3 of our L. Janners. It is strane to the ferman Carrage ws almost entrret on support 2 in wh 49 Bn had few mea - but nove on 66 -95. The carrying pties got m. G. fire from direct of Courcelette. The S2nd & Canadans unthr Maj. Lovath got heavily shellws - Lovat ws hit. They were looking out onto reen county- no more visible & one bygish

& one agst 95.  They
used to come up / trenches
in each case.  They
were bombed out of it
each time & did not
attempt to come over / 
top - nor cause any
