On the left between P Y & F there

were only no trenches - only pits & heaps

of earth. Mustafa Kemal at Y

cdnt tell Z/B how / trenches ran there

- there werent any .

The m.g. fire & flares of ours

were very close. Z/B wanted to

his way in tt corner. They

tried to do something - Bombs

were being thrown from all sides - they

didnt manage to do anything

Till dawn nothing ws done.

The news came tt / rt flank

entered / trench behind 1/57.

Several hours passed in

this way & the state of affairs

ws now pretty well stable.

Abt midnight the CO Regt gave

an order tt they shd make a

night attack. He had divided

the front into 3 parts under 3

Bn COs. Abt  ZK, KY & YP.

During / night there ws a great

congestn & disorder in this

valley & these trenches.

Z/B asked the CO Regt

if he cd remain at KY & the new

Bn CO go to YP bec. Z/B didn't

know YP but he did know KY-

& the new man knew nothing.

The attack ws begun - at

what hour Z/B doesn't know.
