Tolly cd see onto 1 trench he ws sniped & shot dead and. in pout of the Back (now A Back & Bn). This as abt 5 yds short of the trech junction. The trech leading into valley we v. deep r. narrow. The pty cd see the Turks in to Tolly Trench which ran in a loop
back along the S. Edge of T. Tolly – the Turks were visible reming along to trec a few of themr getting back. two of them stopped & began sniping over the French. The first shot got I man behind Back. The a selden nd hot in port of him. The pty came back to a slight bend furtherup trench & seped pom there at these Tarks, After abt ty dozen shots being exchanged Parks got down. Thes pty w81 first down I trench towds a

in the Quarries & ^by the old water
tanks on the rt hand side
of the road out of Hargict.
(to Bellicourt) & these gave
Robertson some casualties.
He went out & cleaned this
place up before 3 Bn passed
through.
