Birdwood’s case - that is his one preoccupation
in this matter. So staunch is he tt I am
sure he wd have no truck with any
cabal wh ws discussing Gen Birdwoods
position- he wd not even give me
his mind except under the tacit assurance
the he wd be conversation ws intimately
confidential - it wd be ^an act of disloyalty in
his mind for him to say anything to me
