22. Procedure for Serving Personnel
Applications have been called for from serving personnel, in this
HQ 130030 of 21 Mar 46 unit CO's having been instructed that if
they consider such personnel as being suitable for interview
they will be marched out forthwith to RR & GDD, Watsonia in the
case of male members and 4 AWAS Barracks in the case of female
members.
23. Adjutant of the selection board will contact RR & GDD, Watsonia
and 4 AWAS Barracks at 1700 hrs daily, and ascertain the number
of personnel to be interviewed on the following day and give
times such personnel are to report. He will also advise the
RR & GDD and AWAD Barracks of the names of personnel selected
during the day, as suitable for inclusion in the contingent
such information being confirmed in writing.
24. Personnel after interview will return to RR & GDD or 4 AWAS
Barracks in possession of a pro form which will indicate whether
they are to be retained for final selection or returned to unit.
The personnel bearing pro forma marked return to unit will be
returned to previous parent unit as soon as possible.
25. Female members considered suitable will only be nominated by
this HQ to HQ AMF who will make the final selection or those
required as set out in Appendix [[?]] hereto.
ISSUES OF CLOTHING etc
26. Full issues of clothing and equipment for the complete force
will be made at RR & GDD and 4 AWAS Barracks under seperate
instructions to be issued by this HQ.
27. In order to assist in the allocation of sizes of clothing, etc,
all comds have been instructed to prepare forms F49 (self
measurement forms) in the case of all ranks (male) and forms
F49(a) for all females selected and forward same by the quickest
means addressed to "HQ AMF for DSC" forms 49 being endorsed
to show the size of boots required.
In order to assist the selection board in this matter personnel
selected as suitable in the preliminary selection will be issued
with a pro forma prepared for this purpose with which they will
report to Camp QN, 11th Floor, 339 Swanston Street, immediately
after interview. Camp QN will arrange for preparation of forms
F49 immediately, these forms being collected the following day
by a member of the selection board staff.
As soon as the final selection has been made of personnel from
Southern Command corresponding forms F49 will be forwarded
direct to HQ AMF for DSC by safe hand.
VACCINATIONS AND INNOCULATIONS
28. Vaccinations and innoculations to bring personnel "up to date" will
be given by RR & GDD and 4 AWAS Barracks as soon as final selection
is advised to those depots by this HQ.
FINAL DATES FOR SELECTION
29. (a) Males
In order that personnel finally selected may be concentrated
at RR & GDD, Watsonia by 1 Apr, it will be necessary for
preliminary selection to be completed by 30 Mar 46, thus
enabling final selection to be completed on 31 Mar 46.

(b) Females
As females considered suitable are only nominations from
this HQ, it will be necessary for selection to be completed
by 27 Mar 46, in order to give HQ AMF sufficient
time to make final selection and have personnel accepted
concentrated at 4 AWAS Barracks by 1 April 46.
