MOVEMENT INSTRUCTIONS.
1. INFORMATION: AMF personnel will be moved from Unit locations to
the March Assembly Area by road.
Personnel will arrive at the Assembly Area NOT later than 1230 hrs
18 Apr 46.
RAN and RAAF personnel are being moved to the Assembly Area under own
service arrangements.
2. TRANSPORT:
(a) DAQMG (M & GD) Southern Command in conjunction with DDST,
Southern Command will arrange for the provision of transport
as set out hereunder: -

(b) Route:- WATSONIA TO Assembly Area (Cnr Nicholson and Albert
Streets) MELBOURNE - Heidelberg Road, Hoddle Street,
Victoria Street, Gisborne Street and Albert Street.
(c) OC Convoy:- (i) DDST, Southern Command will arrange for an officer to act as OC Convoy for Serial 1.
Speed and
Density: - (ii) OC Convoy will be responsible for the speed
and density of convoy for Serial 1. Speeds
vide Standing Orders for Drivers of Mechanical
Vehicles 1945 para 4e will NOT be exceeded.

3. On completion of the debussing of personnel at the
Assembly Area, Vehicles for Serials, 1. 2 and 3 will
then proceed to Unit lines to be held on call for
emergency. Vehicle vide Serial 2 will proceed to
Alexandra Avenue (vicinity of "Palms" and report to
DAQMG (M & GD).
4. On completion of the March, at Alexandra Avenue, personnel
of all Services will embus and proceed to PORT MELBOURNE
for embarkation under arrangements DAQMG (M & GD) Southern
Command.

EMBARKATION - LONDON VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT
A.H.Q. SH475 of 12 Apr 46 refers
1. INFORMATION:
(a) On completion of a parade through the CITY of MELBOURNE on
18 Apr 46, the LONDON VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT will embus
in ALEXANDRA AVE. (Vicinity of Palms Kiosk) for movement to
PRINCES PIER, PORT MELBOURNE for embarkation in HMAS
SHROPSHIRE.
(b) Instructions for the movement of the LONDON VICTORY MARCH
CONTINGENT from unit locations to the MARCH ASSEMBLY AREA
have been issued as Appendix 'A' to HQ Southern Command
Special Order No. 1/46 of 15 Apr 46.
2. BAGGAGE:
(a) (i) The total amount of WANTED ON VOYAGE baggage will be
limited to one package for each passenger.
(ii) All baggage will be stowed on troop and mess decks.
(iii) Each package will be clearly marked 'WANTED ON VOYAGE'
or 'NOT WANTED ON VOYAGE' as applicable.
(b) Baggage will be loaded at PRINCES PIER PORT MELBOURNE OF
18 Apr 46.
Loading will commence at 0900 hrs and is to be completed
NOT later than 1200 hrs.
(c) Baggage of R.A.N. and R.A.A.F. personnel will ^is to be transported
from unit locations to PRINCES PIER PORT MELBOURNE under
own arrangements.

(d) Baggage of AMF personnel will be transported by road in
accordance with instructions hereunder:
(i) LONDON VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT will detail a baggage
party to accompany baggage PRINCES PIER PORT MELBOURNE.
1 LABOR GP will arrange for an unloading party, 1 NCO, 14
ORs to report to O.C. Baggage Det. LONDON VICTORY MARCH
CONTINGENT at PRINCES PIER at 0900 hrs 18 Apr 46. On
completion of duty this party will return to Unit lines
CAMP PELL.
(ii) On completion of the loading of baggage in the HMAS
SHROPSHIRE, the LONDON VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT baggage
party will move to the MARCH ASSEMBLY AREA (Cnr. ALBERT
and NICHOLSON STS., MELBOURNE) and participate in the
march through the CITY OF MELBOURNE.
(iii) DAQMG (M & GD) SOUTHERN COMMAND, in conjunction with
DDST SOUTHERN COMMAND will arrange for transport
to report in accordance with the schedule set out hereunder.

A.P.M SOUTHERN COMMAND will arrange for a motor cycle escort to
accompany the personnel convoy from ALEXANDRA AVE to PORT MELBOURNE,
Escort will report to DAQMG (M & GD) at ALEXANDRA AVE at 1300 hrs
18 Apr.

Documents will be in accordance with Standing Orders for Movement
(AUST) 1942.

5. ASSEMBLY AREA
In front of PERTH RAILWAY STATION, head of column at East end of Station.
Movement to PERTH will be by train, departing FREMANTLE WHARF at 1135 hrs
and arriving Perth Railway Station at 1207 hrs.

Citizen's Reception Council is providing luncheon at Anzac House for all
participating in the March.12 ADM
"A" BRANCH,
will arrange
(a) Liaison with Police Traffic Branch [[remarking?]] control of traffic.
(b) Supervision of arrangements and detail of Provost personnel at
Assembly Area Saluting Base.
"Q" BRANCH,
will arrange
(a) Necessary transport to carry sufficient posts and barrier rails
to cover 300 yards together with largest [[dais?]] and flag polo from
Karrakatta Camp. These stores will be transported to Saluting Base
by 0930 hrs, and returned at conclusion of parade.(b) working party to load and unload stores in (a) and erect some
where directed by "A" Branch representative, and to reload at con-
elusion of parade. No dismantling to take place until official
party have left [[dais.?]](c) Working Part of 1 [[NOO?]] and 8 men to report to Mrs Phyllis Dean at
Anzac House at 0915 hrs and will conform to her instructions until
dismissed. Lunch is being provided for this party.(d) Truck with driver and 1 genl duty man to report to Friendly Union
Hostel, King Street, Perth at 0845 hrs for duty with Citizen's
Reception Council as instructed by person in charge.(e) Two rucks ( one for [[RAN?]] and one for others) to stand by at Anzac
House from 1230 hrs to receive arms of marching personnel. [[RAN?]] is
providing an escort. Escort of 1 [[NCO?]] and 2 men will be provided for
other vehicle by Camp HQ [[H.Comd?]] Both trucks will move together
from Anzac House to [[RAS?]] "Shropshire" and deliver arms on board.[[ORE?]]
will arrange supply in good order of largest dais (4 pieces), suitably
draped, together with flag pole complete.
CAMP COMDT.will arrange for 2 [[WOs?]] to be at Saluting Base from 1100 hrs until parade
has passed, to control entry into enclosure.
Comd. SM will draw Union Flag with toggles and be responsible for
breaking and return of same.-3-
DAPM.
will arrange
(a) for two NCO's to draw lances from Camp Comdt and act as markers
at the Saluting Base, reporting at 1200 hrs.(b) Provost personnel to report at Assembly Area and Saluting Base.
Civilian cars will NOT park near Saluting Base during parade.
