DISBANDMENT OF

INFORMATION
1. Approval is given for disbandment of :-
AMF COPONENT - LONDON VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT
2. ACTION:
Action as directed hereunder will be taken by 0C Unit Cadre to disband
unit, such action to be completed as soon as possible.
3. METHOD:
Disembarkation of Personnel
Members will disembark from HMAs "Shropshire" at the capital cities of
the members' home States, or State in which member desires discharge,
with the exception of the following :¬
(a) Personnel whose destination is:-
(i) Tasmania - who will disembark Melbourne for onward
routing to 6 MD
(ii) Queensland - who will disembark Sydney for onward
routing to Northern Command.
(b) Members of Unit Cadre - who will be appointed in accordance with
GRO 229/45 and will disembark Melbourne
to arrange for disbandment of unit.
Disposal of Personnel
4. (a) Members who re-enlisted to join the Contingent will be discharged
on termination of leave etc, vide para 14 of AHQ 24431 of 15 Mar 46.
(b) Separate instructions will be issued
members who joined the Contingent from BCCF.

(c) Other members will be dealt with as follows :-
(i) Those eligible and desirous of discharge i.e. with 121
points and above may be marched out for discharge.
(ii) Particulars of members with less than 121 points and
volunteers for further service will be forwarded to this
HQ in the following form:-

On receipt of the above particulars, instructions concerning the disposal of personnel will be issued by this HQ.
Completion of section on current "A" Matters
5. In accordance with GRO 229/45 Part IV

Completion of financial Matters
7. In accordance with GRO 229/45 Part VI pares 33.- 41 incl.
Equipment
8. (a) All equipment will be returned to 4 BOD.
(b) Trunks, cabin, steel will be withdrawn from male members by
RR & GDD.
Closing of Ordnance Accounts
9. Ledger Accounting
On completion of accounting section will after disposal of stores as
directed balances remaining in the ledger will represent discrepancies
which will be listed on AAFs F46.
CO of unit will take action to investigate discrepancies in accordance
with the provisions of GRO A348/44 and Unit "Q" representative
will then personnaly submit the following to Unit Stores Account Sec
31 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, for the purposes of closing account:-
(i) AAFs F46 (six copies)
(ii) Ledger and all supporting vouchers and documents
(iii) Report of Investigation Officer.
(iv) OC's covering report.
Regimental Funds
(a) In accordance with GRO 229/45 pars 44 and 45.
(b) C0 will ensure that no distributions in cash and/or kind are
made to individual members of the unit from Unit Regimental
Funds.
(c) The amount which may expended by a unit on social entertainment
will not exceed 25% the Unit Fund, and in any case will not
exceed One Pound per head without the approval of this HQ.

Regimental Property
(a) All property purchased from Regimental Funds and gifts, and issues
by DAD Amenities will be returned to DAD Amenities.
Articles issued by DADAE will be returned to DADAE.
(b) Property returned to DAD Amenities will be divided into the following
groups and delivered to Amenities Stores, Drill Hall, Moore St,
South Welbourne.
(i) Officers' Mess : Donations ex C-inC's Fund
(ii) Sgts' Moss : Donations ex GOC's Fund
(iii) ORs : Donations ex GOC's Fund
(iv) ORs : Purchases from Army Amenities Service
and outside sources from Unit Funds
and Gifts.
(c) An AF G1033 (six copies) for each group will be submitted with the
articles receipted and will be distributed as follows:-
(i) 1 copy will be forwarded with the property ledger.
(ii) 2 copies will be retained by DAD Amenities Store.
(iii) 1 Copy will be Forwarded to the HQ Mil Dist or HQ
Command of Area in which unit was raised.
(iv) 1 copy to DFO Vic.
(v) 1 copy attached to the certificate of the CO vide para 45
of GRO 229/45.
(d) The Regimental Property Ledger with supporting vouchers will be
forwarded to HQ SOUTHERN COMMAND (ACMG).
Mess Funds and Property
(a) The Minutes of the General Meeting (in Triplicate) of the Officers'
and/or Sgts' Mess authorising the disbursement of Mess Funds and/or
Mess property are to be forwarded to this HQ for approval. Two
copies of the approved minutes for each Mess will be returned to
the unit; the unit will forward to the CFO, AHQ through Depot Cash
Office the mess funds and one approved copy of the Minutes of the
General Meeting to cover each Mess.
(b) Mess Property not disposed of will be stored as directed by HQ
SOUTHERN COMEEAND.
The AF G1033 used to transfer the property to storage will as far
as possible be completed to show the cost of the property and the
bock valuation at the time of dissolution.
Separate AFS G1033 will be issued for Officers' and Sergeants'
Messes.
(c) The Mess Property Ledger with all supporting vouchers will be
forwarded to HQ SOUTHERN COMMAND (ACMG).
Articles on Loan
a) All articles on loan from
13. XXXXXXXXXXXX Philanthropic Societies or individuals will
be returned and a signature obtained on an AF Gl03S chich will be
attached to the Regimental Property Ledger.
(b) Equipment or Fittings on hire or loan from AA Canteens Service will
be returned to Canteen Issuing Point from which unit regularly draws
supplies.

14. A Unit Committee will be elected by members of the Unit to recommend
the eventual disposal of unit trophies.
A Statement on an AF G1033 (six copies) of the proposed method of
disposal signed by the members of the Committee and concurred in by
the OC will be submitted to this HQ for approval.
The copies of the AFS G1033 will be attached to each copy of the
AFs G1033 as shown in para II (c) herein.

Sep 43 on action taken to implement this instruction.
