Subsistence Allowances.
You are advised that cabled advice has now be received
from HQ AMF authorising payment of AMF members of Australian Victory
Contingent of the following scale of allowances on and from 9 Jun 46
up to embarkation for Aust irrespective of whether members are
rationed and quartered :-
Brigadier and above 20/-
Col. Lt.-Col. & Major 18/-
Captain & Lieut. 16/-
Other Ranks 13/-
2. All rates quoted above are sterling and may be paid to
members from your impressed advances on Forms TS.584.
3. The rates above are, of course, payable in addition to
field allowances where applicable and entertainment allowances
already in members paybooks.

Special Allowances for Officers' Uniforms, etc.
Authority has this day been received from Chief Finance Officer,
H.Q., A.M.F., for the payment to male officers of the Australian Victory
Contingent of a special outfit allowance subject to the following conditions :-
(a) Payment will be limited to those officers of the Contingent who
necessarily incurred expense in the purchase of any or all of
the following new articles of uniform for the occasion :-
Officer pattern cap
Officer pattern uniform
Greatcoat
(b) Each officer's claim will be supported by receipts covering the
amounts expended and will contain a declaration that the
articles in respect of which reimbursement is being claimed were
purchased for wear at the Victory celebrations.
(c) The amount of allowance will not exceed £20-0-0 (Australian
currency) for any offficer.
It will be noted that this approval only applies to male officers and
also that the production of receipts is a necessity. In view of the latter, it
is likely that recovery by some of the officers will not be possible until
return to Australia.

C.F.O. ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTION NO. 209
VICTORY MARCH CONTINGENT - PAY AND ALLOWANCES.
Pay and Allowances fir A.M.F. members if the Australian
contingent which will participate in the Victory March in London on
8th June, 1946, will be as prescribed in War Financial (Military
Forces) Regulations. In addition, a special entertainment allowance
as follows will be paid whilst members are in the United Kingdom :-
Officers 15/7 Aust. per diem
W.Os. and
Sergeants 6/3 Aust. per diem
All other ranks 3/9 Aust. per diem
Active Pay and Drawing Rate in members' paybooks will be
increased by the amount of the special allowance for the period during
which the allowance is payable. Advice of the entry and deletion of
the allowance will be furnished to District Finance Officers on Form
W.F.235 (Tax Variation Advice) suitably amended. On receipt of such
advices District Finance Officers will adjust Active Pay and Drawing
Rate on pay ledger cards.
