Comments on Reception of March. |
A reasonable numer of spectators lined the route, but it was felt no more than the average lunch time crowd. The reception of the marching troops was disappointing. X A feeling of polite interest pervaded the scene, but no more. X There was practically no cheering, clapping, or applause. In addition there was a complete abscence of flags bunting, or patriotic paraphenalia of any sort. On consideration it is hard to imagine why the city of PERTH requested the march, when it was plain curiosity. Capt WIER who observed the |
