SECTION II
A.—ORDERS FOR THE ASSEMBLY IN REGENTS PARK OF
VEHICLES TAKING PART in THE MECHANIZED COLUMN
1. Vehicles will assemble along the Outer Circle Road in Regents Park, with the head of
the column 150 yds. short of Clarence Gate.
2. All orders for the Assembly, including timings, will be given by the Chief Marshal,
but the whole Column will be in position ready to march off by 0845 hrs.
3. In the Assembly Area all vehicles will be drawn up nose to tail, in order to ensure
that no distance is lost when the Column starts to move off.

THE MARCHING COLUMN
1. At Appendix "F" the diagrammatic layout of groups in the Assembly Area is shown together
with four separate routes—GREEN, YELLOW, BLACK, PURPLE—into the Assembly Area. Each
route has its own Starting Point.
2. All personnel will march to the Assembly Area in SIXES from their respective Camps or debussing
area, according to the following plan and timetable :—

3. On arrival in the Assembly Area, groups or contingents will immediately form up in ranks of twelve
abreast—the correct intervals within each contingent being checked by Marshalling Officers.
The head and tail of each contingent will be marked on the ground by notice boards.
As soon as Senior Marshals of each group are satisfied that their group is correctly organized on the
ground, personnel may fall out within their own area. orders for falling in again, prior to marching off,
will be given by the Chief Marshal through Senior Marshals.
4. Debussing Areas.—All personnel, not being accommodated in the camps in Kensington Palace
Gardens, will enter Hyde Park in transport by Alexandra Gate only, according to the following timetable.
Debussing Area are shown in Appendix "F". On debussing, personnel will form up in sixes, ready to
march off to the Assembly Area.

SECTION III
ORDERS FOR THE DISPERSAL OF BOTH MECHANIZED
AND MARCHING COLUMNS AT THE END OF THE
PARADE ON 8th JUNE, 1946
A. Mechanized Column
(a) The Mechanized Column will enter Regents Park by Park Square Gate East.
(b) A control post will be established just inside the Park at the North end of Park
Drive East, to direct vehicles to their original parking area.
(c) All civilian vehicles will remain in Regents Park until 1400 hours, when they can
commence to disperse independently. Separate instructions will be issued by those concerned.
B. Marching Column
(a) The Marching Column will enter Hyde Park at Apsley Gate, Hyde Park Corner.
(b) A control post will be established inside the Park (see Appx G).
(c) This control post will direct groups and contingents along one of three routes—either
Red, Blue or fawn (see Appx G), according to the following plan :—

(d) Contingents on "Red" and "Blue" routes will march as far up each route as
possible—halt and immediately form up in sixes. They will then march straight back to
their respective Camps as ordered by the Control Posts on each route (see Appx G).
(e) Transport for all the Women's Services and Civilian Services will be drawn up facing
North along "Fawn" route.
Embussing will take place as soon as possible, and buses will proceed back to camp or
billets, leaving Hyde Park at Marble Arch. On no account will any other gate be used.
(f) Transport for the WRNS Detachment and Merchant Navy Detachment will remain
in the debussing area.
As soon as these detachments have embussed they will proceed back to their respective
billets, using Victoria Gate only.

SECTION IV
ADMINSTRATIVE ORDERS FOR THE VICTORY MARCH
1. Refreshments
N.A.A.F.I. will provide sufficient mobile canteens to supply refreshments to civilian
personnel in both assembly areas. These canteens will be in position alongside the forming
up line of the civilian contingents before the first parties arrive on the ground.
Refreshments will be supplied against tickets which are being issued to civilian personnel
under the arrangements with the Ministry of Works.
2. Sanitation
(a) Chief Engineer, London District, will arrange the construction of latrines in both
assembly areas.
(b) All ranks are warned that no special arrangements are being made for latrine
accommodation on either route.
3. Medical
(a) Casualties occurring on both routes will be dealt with by St John's Ambulance
personnel, who are stationed along the routes.
(b) Motor Ambulances will be provided by D.D.M.S., London District, as shown below :—
(1) Assembly Area
Two Ambulances in Hyde Park to be stationed at the junction of the paths
just outside the main gate to the old A.A. Site.
(2) M.T. Route
One Ambulance—Old Street Cross Roads.
One Ambulance—Harleyford Street (Oval Station)
One Ambulance—Royal Mint Street (Tower of London).
(3) M.T. and Marching Route
One Ambulance—Parliament Square (West Side)
One Ambulance—Approach Road (St James' Park).
One Ambulance—Stable Yard, St. James' Palace.
(c) Stretcher Squads will be provided by D.D.M.S. London District, and will be
available as shown below to carry casualties to the Ambulances or to Wellington Barracks :—
Two squads behind the Saluting Base on the South side of the Mall.
Two squads in the vicinity of the Press Stand on the North side of the Mall.
4. Recovery
(a) Ten recovery points will be provided by D.D.ME., London District.
(b) Vehicles which break down will NOT be recovered from the line of march until the
whole column has passed, unless specific orders are given by one of the Marshalling Officers,
in which case the vehicle will be cleared from the route immediately.
(c) Each vehicle will have tow ropes secured to the front of the vehicle ready for
instant use.
(d) Each driver will have a copy of instructions giving the action to be taken in the
event of breakdown. These instructions will be issued to Detachment Commanders by Camp
Commandants before the first rehearsal.
(e) Vehicles will be recovered to Regent's Park Camp at the conclusion of the Parade,
i.e., not before 1300 hours.
5. Petrol, Oil and Lubricants
All vehicles will start full. They will carry spare fuel and water in sufficient quantities
to ensure that they can complete the course.
