(b) Leading file of Marching Contingent will arrive at St. John's Wood
Barracks at 1000 hrs. Captain D.N.R, WARMEN London District Signals
will meet each Contingent on arrival and will direct it to its
position on parade as indicated in Appendix 'B'. An interval of
five paces will be left between Sections and Contingents. Marching
Contingent will be in position by 1015hrs.
8. CEREMONIAL
(a) On the arrival of H.R.H. at the entrance of the parade ground,
OC Parade will give the command -
"Parade - Attention"
"Slope arms"
(b). Then H.R.H escorted to the centre of the Saluting Base by
Col. Commandant, R. Signals, has taken up position facing the
parade, OC Parade will give the command -
"Royal Salute"
"Parade - present arms"
All officers on parade will salute with the hand.
"Order arms"
NOTE: Rifles etc. of M.T. contingent will remain racked in vehicles.
(c) Col. Commandant will then ask H.R.H. to inspect the parade.
OC Parade will give the command -
"Officers take post"
Officers of Marching Contingent will take three paces forward.
"Parade - open order march"
Officers and rank and file of M.T. contingent will stand fast.
(d). H.R.H. accompanied by personal staff, Col. Commandant, C.S.O. London
district and OC Parade will inspect the parade.
(e) At the finish of the inspection, H.R.H. and party will return to the
Saluting Base. OC Parade will give the command -
"Parade - close order march"
Officers will take three paces to the rear - rank and file will close
order. The parade will remain at attention during the address unless
ordered otherwise.
(f) At the conclusion of H.R.H's address, OC Parade will request permission
for the parade to march past.
(g) OC Parade will give the commands:
"Parade - slope arms"
"Parade will march past"
"Move to the right in threes"

"Right turn"
"Officers take post"
The M.T. Contingent will stand fast.
Officers will fall in in front of their sections and contingents
as in march to parade ground.
OC Parade will place himself 10 paces in front of leading section.
Section and Contingent Commanders will give the commands -
"By the right quick march"
"Left wheel"
"Left wheel"
An interval of 10 paces will be left between Sections and Contingents.
(h) On reaching the Saluting Base, OC Parade will salute independently and
after passing the Saluting Base, will fall in beside H.R.H.
Section Commanders who will march on the right flank of the leading
file of their section will give the commands -
"Royal Signals - eyes right"
"Royal Signals - eyes front"
Contingent Commanders will march 3 paces in front and will give the
appropriate preface to their commands, e.g. "Canadian Corps of Signals,
eyes right" etc.
NOTE: In the case of the New Zealand army, the senior NCO will take
command and act accordingly.
9. DISPERSAL.
(a) After OC Parade has fallen out after passing the Saluting Base, the
Commander of No. 1 Section will march the Contingent back to
Kensington Gardens. Canadian army contingent will be dismissed.
(b) H.R.H. will be escorted to the Officers' Mess where certain officers
will be presented to her by the Colonel Commandment.
(c) After the departure of H.R.H., M.T. Contingents will proceed back to
Regents Park under the command of Captain [[C.D.C.]] KINGMAN, R. Signals.
10. COLOURS.
Under arrangements to be made by OC London District Signals, the
R. Signals flag will be flown at the entrance to St. John's Wood Barracks
from 0900 hrs 3 Jun to 1300 hrs 3 Jun. The Union Jack will be flown from
the commencement of the Royal Salute until the departure of H.R.H.
11. BAND
(a) The Band of the Royal Signals will arrive at St. John's Wood Barracks
at 0950 hrs. Transport will be arranged by CSO, London District.
OC London District Signals will allocate position to the bandmaster.

(b) In addition to the Royal Salute the band will play a slow march
throughout the inspection, the Royal Signals March during march
past and selections after the parade.
(c) The Band will leave St. John's Wood after the M.T. Contingent has
left.
12. SPECTATORS.
(a) Invitations to certain officers have been issued by A.G.11(a)
War Office.
(b) All spectators must be in position by 1050 hrs. GC London District
Signals will arrange for parking of cars, seating etc.
13. ADMIN.
(a) Under arrangements to be made by GC London District Signals, tea
will be issued to all ranks on parade at 1015 hrs.
(b) Suitable arrangements for latrines will be made by GC London
District Signals.
(c) The parade ground will be marked out in accordance with Appendix 'B'
under arrangements to be made by GC London District Signals. This
will be completed by 0900 hrs Thursday 30 May 46.
14. PRACTICE PARADES.
(a) No full scale rehearsal will take place at St. John's Wood Barracks.
(b) Lt. Col P.M.P. Hobson DSM, R Signals, will make his own arrangements
for practising ceremonial in Kensington Gardens for marching contingent.
(c) Capt. G.E.C. Kingman R. Signals will arrange with GC London District
Signals to carry out vehicle alignment and parking practice in
St. John's Wood at 1000 hrs Friday 31 May 46.

NOTE 1: He should allow an interval of two r three seconds before
giving the above commands in order to enable H.R.H. to see
the movement.
NOTE 2:Rifles, etc. of M.T. contingent will remain racked in vehicles.
(b) H.R.H. escorted to the centre of the Saluting Base by the Colonel
Commandant R. Signals, has taken up position facing the parade, O.C.
Parade will give the command -
“Royal Salute”
“Parade – Present Arms
All officers on parade will salute with the hand, working in the last
movement of the present.
“Slope Arms”
Officers come down from the salute on second movement of the slope.
(c) OC Parade will then report to H.R.H saying -
“Parade present and ready for your inspection, Ma’am”
On being told to carry on, OC Parade will give the command -
“Order arms – No. 1 Section stand fast, remainder stand at ease”
NOTE : Remaining sections will be brought to attention as detailed
on practice Parade and stood at ease in like manner.
(d) H.R.H. accompanied by personal staff, Colonel Commandant, CSO London
District and O.C. Parade, will inspect the parade.
NOTE : 2 i/c Parade will also accompany.
(e) At the finish of the inspection, H.R.H. and party will return to the
Saluting Base (less O.C. Parade and 2 i/c.)
(f) The presentation of the Japans=ese Sword, followed by H.R.H’s address will
then take place.
(g) At the conclusion of the address, O.C. Parade will give the commands -
“ Parade – attention”
“Close order March”
Officers will take two paces to the rear. Rank and file will close
order march.
“Slope Arms”
“Parade will march past”
“Move to the right in threes”
“Right turn”
Officers will automatically take post as explained on Practice Parade.
2 i/c will take up position 6 paces in front of leading section of threes.

Section and contingent commanders will give the commands -

contingents.
(h) On reaching the Saluting Base, OC Parade and 2 i/c will salute together,
independently of the parade. After passing the Saluting Base, OC Parade
will fall in beside H.R.H.
Section Commanders who willmarch on the right flank of the leading file
of their sections, will give the commands -
"Royal Signals No. 1 - eyes right"
"Royal Signals No. 1 - eyes front"
The Section Commander only will salute with the hand. Contingent
Commanders will march 3 paces in front and will give the appropriate
preface to their commands -
e.g. "Canadian Corps of Signals - Eyes right"
Contingent Commanders will salute with the hand.
NOTE : In the case of the New Zealand Army, the senior NCO will take

These Orders are issued in amplification of Administrative Orders for the
Camps issued by London District, two copies of which are issued to each Contingent.
Any amendment or alteration will be published in Camp Daily Orders
1. MEALS
In view of the accommodation and other facilities meals have to be
taken by all Other Ranks in two settings are under:

Officers' Commanding Contingents will inform the Camp Messing Officer
by 0830hours daily the numbers that will be in Mess that day, this information is
necessary to prevent any wastage of food. In the event of a large number of
personnel being out for any particular meal the above times will be modified.
2. PARADES
The Camp Parade Ground is the area bounded by the New Zealand -
South African, Rhodesian/Newfoundland and Camp Staff Lines, all contingents wishing to
parade will use the Camp Parade Ground, with the exception of the Australian contingent,
who will use the area between their lines and the Cook House.

3. BATHS
The Camp Shower Bath will be open from 1030 hours to 1530 hours for
Other Ranks and from 1900 hours to 2200 hours for Officers. Contingents requiring
a special allotment of the whole shower will apply to the Camp Officer the day
previous, when a time will be arranged for them.
4. LATRINES
(a) There are four latrines in the Camp area which will be used as follows:
No. 1 Latrine near the Camp Staff lines by the Camp Staff, Australian
Newfoundland and New Zealand contingents.
No. 2 Latrine in the South African lines by Canadian, South African and
Rhodesian contingents. A small part of this latrine is reserved for Coloured
personnel.
No. 3 Latrine the small latrine in the South African lines by all War
officers.
No. 4 Latrine in the Officers lines by all Officers.
(b) WASHING
There will be no washing in the lines. All personnel will wash in
the ablutions provided.
5. SENTRIES
(a)
Each contingent will find a piquet sentry on it's own lines.
Rhodesia and Newfoundland may combine if their Commanding Officers
consider it advisable owing to the relatively small numbers of personnel available.
(b) The Camp Staff will find sentries for the Camp Gate and the Officers
6. DUTY OFFICER
A Duty Officer and Officer next Duty will be published daily in
Camp Orders. Officers for the Duty Officer will be issued to al contingents.
7. MOVEMENT
(a) All personnel will enter and leave the Camp by the Gate and not over
the fence, which will not be interfered with in any way.
(b) Time of personnel to be in and out of Camp area at the discretion of
Officers Commanding contingents, who will make any arrangements they may consider
necessary for marking the contingents in and out of Camp.
(c) The Gate Staff will report to the Guard Tent on entering and leaving Camp.
(d) All personnel entering and leaving Camp require a pass which has to be
shown to the C.M.P at the Main Camp Entrance.
8. BOUNDS
The Camp Staff Lines and the Cook House area are out of bounds to all
Dominion troops.
The Officers Mess and Officers Lines are out of bounds to all Other
Ranks unless they have some specific duty therein.
Sheet THREE
9. MEDICAL
The Medical Inspection Tent for 'D' Lines is situated in 'E' Lines
(at the cross roads near the ablutions)
Sick Parade is at 0830 hours daily, except Sundays. Personnel reporting
sick [[?]] take TWO copies of Army Form B 256 (Morning Sick Report) to the M.I. Tent.
10. OFFICERS MESS
(a) The Mess President will be the Camp Adjutant.
(b) The Bar will be open at the following times:
1030 hours to 1400 hours
1800 hours to 200 hours
Cigarettes may bought at any time up to 2300 hours.
(c) Meals
Breakfast..0730 hours to 0930 hours
Lunch..1300 hours
Tea..1630 hours
Supper..1930 hours
(d) Officers Accommodation
All details regarding Officers Lines will be obtained from the
Officers Mess Office.
(e) Officers will ensure that th servants dispose of washing water to the
Cook House drain and not into the Serpentine or on the ground round the trees.
11. TENTS
The walls of all sleeping tents will be rolled up from 0800 hours to
1300 hours daily unless the weather is wet, this does not apply to the Officers Lines.
12. M.T.
MT will be parked in the Car Park. Vehicles will not park off the road
through the Camp, neither will they proceed over the grass at any point.
13. VISITORS
Contingents will apply to the Camp Office if they wish any special visitor
to be allowed into the Camp. Applications can only be granted by Brigade Headquarters.
14. POSTAL
(a) The Camp Post Orderly will deliver mail to contingents.
(b) Outgoing mail may be posted in any Pillar Box. The nearest is by the
Camp Gate.
15. TELEPHONES
Each contingent Office has a telephone to 'D' Lines Switchboard, this
telephone will only be used for official calls. Signal layout is issued to contingent
