1. DAILY ROUTINE
0630 hrs - Reveille

2. DRESS
Whether in camp during parade hours, on parade, or on
leave, dress will be either:-
(a) Hat or cap, trousers and jacket SD, gaiters, boots,
greatcoat if necessary,
(b) Hat or cap, trousers drill, shirt, belt waist, gaiters,
boots, chin strap, jumper woollen and/or greatcoat
if necessary.
Dress for daily parade will be (b) above unless notified
otherwise.
Personnel will be clean shaven, and will shave in early
mornings.
3. LEAVE
Until further notice, leave will be granted from 1615 hrs
until 0800 hrs.
4. LATRINES & ABLUTIONS
Latrines and ablutions in adjacent camp site opposite cook
house will be used. Latrines and ablutions at bottom of this
site (near YMCA) will NOT be used. Cookhouses, whether in use
or not, will NOT be used for washing purposes.
5. HYGIENE & CAMP CLEANLINESS
Occupants of all huts will be responsible for the cleanliness
of same before leaving camp on leave; blankets will be folded on
top of palliasses, and equipment, kitbags etc stacked neatly.
Huts will be swept clean.
6. MAIL
Mail (outward) will be posted by individuals at Post Office
next to the canteen by 0800 hrs, and by 1600 hrs daily.
Mail (inward) will be distributed to personnel at approx
1100 hrs daily.7. Address for this camp is as follows:-

7. Pay
Paybooks will be handed in to the Orderly Room by 1000 hrs
4 Apr 46, with the amount required shown in pencil. Parade will
be notified.
8. CANTEEN
Canteen facilities are available at corner of Second Avenue
and Fifth Street.
9. POST OFFICE
PMG facilities are available opposite the canteen.
10. RECREATION HUT
Located as follows:-
YMCA in Fifth Street (South of this Area)
Red Shield in western end of Fifth Street.
11. BOUNDS
Cookhouses, refrigerator, vehicle park area, "Q" Store and
unoccupied buildings are out of bounds.

23. DRESS FOR LEAVE
Personnel are NOT permitted to proceed on leave unless they are
correctly dressed. Dress No 2 - Walking Out Dress (Australia) -
lays down the following:-
SD, belt waist web, hat turned up, boots or shoes.
24. DRESS - GENERAL
Arrangements are being made to return to store all items of
thing and equipment previously issued to members of the Contingent.
VICTORIAN members are advised to return to their homes all items which
have not been issued since their inclusion in the Contingent. To
ensure uniformity of Dress, members are NOT permitted to carry any
item which is not a new issue, except one set of KD clothing for
fatigue dress.
25. LEAVE
All members proceeding from the camp area must be in possession
of a leave pass which will be issued on the leave parade at 1615 hrs
hrs daily and 1215 hrs Saturdays.
26. GREAT COATS
Attention is drawn to Standing Orders for Dress, paragraph 4
directing that greatcoats will be worn only when ordered.
27. ATEBRIN
All members who have served for any period in a malarious area
will commence a course of suppressive treatment forthwith. Platoon
Serjeants will ensure that all personnel in the above category
receive one tablet each daily except Sundays. This will be distributed
at 0815 hrs daily by the platoon serjeants. Supplies will be obtained
from the Q Store by the platoon sjts, and by the RQMS who is
responsible for the issue to HQ personnel.

28. THE DEFENCE MEDAL
Qualifying Service:
(a) The Defence Medal will be granted for twelve months' non-operational
service with the Forces overseas from, or outside,
the country of residence between 3rd September 1939 and 2nd
September 1945, i.e. all service between the dates mentioned
with the Forces overseas from, or outside, the country of
residence, not included in the operational areas listed for the
1939-1945 Star eligibility.
The Territory of Papua and the Mandated Territory of NEW GUINEA
are part of the Commonwealth of Australia, and service in those
territories, for the purpose of the award of the Defence Medal,
is service in the country of residence and is not service
overseas.
(b) Service for 6 months in the Northern Territory, north of
parallel 14½ degrees south, between 19th February 1942 and
12th November 1943, or in Torres Strait Islands between 14th
March 1942 and 18th June 1943.
(c) Service counting for the Defence Medal in respect of which a
non-operational decoration has been awarded.
Only those members qualifying for the award in accordance with
the categories listed above are eligible to wear the ribbon.

25. CLOTHING
In an endeavour to prevent pilfering, all personnel must
ensure that their own washing is removed from clothes lines
before 1700 hrs daily.
30. DRESS - RIBBONS
Medal ribbons will be sewn on to strip of talc as provided
by QM Store. These will be sewn on to tunics centrally above the
left pocket. The following rules apply to the wearing of ribbons
in rows:
(a) 5 ribbons are to be worn with four in the top row and one
centrally placed in the second row.
(b) 6 ribbons are to be worn with four in the top row and two
centrally placed in the second row.
(c) MID emblems will be sewn on to SD uniforms.
31. PAY
All members are advised to pay excess monies into their
paybooks, and not to carry large sums of money.
The next pay period will be on Wednesday at a time to be
notified later.
All pay from the time the Contingent leaves Australia will be in
Sterling and not in Australian Currency.
32. LEAVE
There will be no overnight leave on Wed 17 Apr 46.

33. ROUTINE PRIOR TO EMBARKATION - WATSONIA
Wednesday 17 Apr 46
1000 hrs - Q Maintenance gear to be at Princes' Pier.
1000 hrs - RMO to collect medical stores and transfer them to
Sick Bay on HMAS "Shropshire".
1700 hrs - Tin trunks loaded on pl vehicles. HQ personnel,
officers' gear, Orderly Room, Pay and Postal gear
on HQ vehicle. Q Store (including excess kit of
advance party) and amenities stores loaded on 2 x 3
ton vehicles.
Thursday 19 Apr 46
0600 hrs - Reveille
0645 hrs - Breakfast (QM to arrange with cooks)
0715 hrs - Kitbags loaded on pl trucks. One kitbag only will
be available to the man on voyage and this will
include:
Greatcoat Shirts KD
Boot cleaning gear Slacks KD
Rifle cleaning gear - Fatigue dress
Toilet gear Berets
Towels Socks
Mess gear Sandshoes
Web equipment Pyjamas
'Off the Hook' SD Underwear

Tin trunk and remaining kitbag will be stored below
throughout voyage.
0730 hrs - Trucks depart for Port Melbourne. Lt Peck and
baggage party of 1 NCO & 4 ORs will move with vehicles.
0745 hrs - Blankets will be laid flat in sleeping huts under
supervision of pl sjts, and stretchers will be folded
and tied before stacking in sleeping huts.
HQ personnel and officers' bedding will be stacked
similarly in RQ Store under supervision of Q
representative.
0845 hrs – PARADE - Inspection - Organization into embarkation
drafts - Issue of embarkation cards and WF
47's - Procedure on embarkation will be
detailed and Ship's Standing Orders read -
Form up in sixes for drill.
1100 hrs - Lunch - Sandwiches (QM to arrange for sufficient mugs
for tea for 150 men).
1115 hrs - Parade
1130 hrs - Embus - Watsonia

by working party from Labour Coy.
0830 hrs - vehicle departs for Princes’ Pier with one AWAS
NCO to supervise unloading. This NCO will return
to assembly area for march, with baggage party.
0830 hrs - Bedding returned to Q Store.
0900 hrs - Parade - Inspection
Embarkation Procedure and issue of embarkation
cards and WF 47's.
Instructions for female services to be read.
Drill including marching past in sixes.
1130 hrs - Lunch.
1200 hrs - Embus on 22 seater bus.
1215 hrs - Debus - Albert St.
1230 hrs - Fall in.
1300 hrs - March commences.
1330 hrs - March concludes - Embus Alexandra Ave.
