MAY, 1918.
Wednesday 15
Drew rations. went down
to Wadi Kelt and recovered
all available togs.
Got Jacks squirt fixed up.
played bridge till 10.30.am.
Very hot day.

Thursday 16
Usual routine; preparing
to move; left camp
at 6.45 & proceeded on to
Jerusalem, a long treck
and arrived at Jerusalem
about 2.30.

Friday 17
Got to Jerusalem about 2.30 &
rode through onto Bethlehem
then onto Khudri passing
along the road via Solomon
Pools to a camp 3 miles
South towards in the
Hebron road. camped
on hill: weather much
cooler: usual routine
very tired after our all night
ride.
Went over to 1st Regt at night.

Usual routine drew
rations: took horses
to water in evening
Very cold night, had
to rug horses.

Usual routine. Compulsary
RC Church parade
still very cool: windy

Monday 20
Fairly quiet day; drew
rations etc: N.C.s in charge
of party to get remounts
at Desert corps: left here
4.30 & proceeded almost
to Jerusalem; got 7 (packs)
and came back. arriving
about 9 P.m. very
nice ride (16 miles) had
tea at a canteen along
the road.

Tuesday 21
Rather warm day.
fairly windy: got inoculated
for Cholera in
afternoon
Inoculation had s
pretty solid effect on
me as I was not feeling
too fit.

Wednesday 22
On watering parade to
Solomons Pools. bad head
ache after Inoculation
A.I.F Canteen arrived
& opened. good assortment
of "munger".

Thursday 23
Leave for Jerusalem: got up
at 4.15 AM. & proceeded into
Jerusalem arriving about
8.30: did some shopping
got very crook: had to spell
all day in the stables where
our horses were left.
Had lunch in a "joint"
quite a good one: then
had a drink of tea at
4.30: (the best I remember
since leaving home) then
left about 5; arriving
home about 9.30 fairly
tired & crook..
Rode about 23 Miles.)

Feeling very off after
trip to Jerusalem.
had to get Jackie to
draw the rations, did
not feel up to it.

Usual routine; out
on watering parade
YMCa turned up in
afternoon & a lot of
volunteers erected it in
the moonlight.

Caldow, got pepped.
Still very crook with
"Tummy" troubles

day. Went out grazing.
not feeling too well
bad "tummy ache"
went over to firld Ambulance
& got adore of oil

chilly at night; good mail
in got 16 letters; went over
to YMCa at night, had
a yarn to some of the
Field Ambulance boys.
