Went to pictures with
Chicbby Arnot and Jim
Riley
Not a bad turnout
Ian Jack Glennie, Ossie
Gael and Ike Mitchell.
Went on early morning
sick parade and got eye
dressed

Thursday 3
Went down to Field Cashier
and drew the Remittance
£10. and bought some
Mungaree.

Friday 4
Great feed up in
1st Bgd Sgts mess as
send off to all originals
going home
2nd A.S.H. gave us a great
concert.
Felling pretty off colour
bad headache, eye
pretty sore.

Saturday 5
Great day. still awaiting
orders. went down to
Picture Show at night
with Jim Riley & "Chilbby"

Church Parade did not
go.

Quiet day: went to pictures
at night with Jack Glennie

Tuesday 8
Jim Riley & "Chilbby" Arnott
left to rejoin their unit.
Bought a pair off Alminum
spurrs from Dogan.
Went danto MGS Details saw
Dal and got 3 pencils
1 Gussie -2 Enid.

Very quiet day
wrote to Timmy about
photos.

Thursday 10
Got leave to Ishmalia
at night; went in
about 5.30, went
for swim; and
then a hair cut. -
a good feed of fish
caught [[?]] at
Ishmalia & got
home early, saw
pictures.

Friday 11
Went for a swim in
Better Kakro at
Ishmalia, very nice
in morning wrote
a couple of letters
Went to pictures at
night.

Saturday 12
Quiet day in camp
went down to see Jack
Glennie off to the Cadet
school, got word of our
move, hurried back
to camp and packed
up: had kit inspected
and caught train at
Mascar at 11.30 &
proceeded to Port Suez
after 12: in open
trucks; very [[?]]
trip and pretty chilly.
Wrote a letter to Mrs Walker
and an Au Revoir to Jim
OCTOBER, 1918.
Sunday 13
Arrived in Port Suez
a 6 oclock then onto
Port Tawfick by train
and went aboard
the 'Devon' about
11.30; the Infantry
194 men arrived a
little later about 8 00
and came aboard
Waited till 4.30 and
cast off and proceeded
thro the Red Sea.
On mess orderly
saw Colm, had a
yarn;
Awfully hot below,

breeze, usual routine
Physical jerks;
All 14th AGH men
had to parade to
Doctor.
