"Anema" went up to
Water Works, about 60
in party: had a great
time: but too many
to have much sport.
Got home early.

Bonser picnic which
Sisters Woods, Clapp
Phillips Milligan & Hinton
shouted 5 of us!
Went up the 'crick' to
old picnic ground, and
had a great afternoon
sport.

The "Blue Dragoons" concert
party gave us a great turnout
had a good variety

Wrote Mother.

Tuesday 24
Return picnic of the
"Cobbers" went up the
Canal and had great
feed up. arrived home
about 7.45
Annual dinner for the
sisters: Most of cobbers
did not go.
Good mail in got 20 letters.

Wednesday 25
The Bats Concert party
gave a great turnout
in the Hall the "Band"
was something special
very good impersonator
indeed:
Preparing for operation
on eye for the following
day.
Wrote 'Fluffy'.

Thursday 26
Went up to Operating
Theatre at 11, and was
given the "Knock out drops"
by Dr Joski, and floated
into oblivion, had
the eye chopped about
some and woke up
soon afterwards; felt
pretty "[[misquici?]]": but
did not stay in bed
long.
Went to the Whiz Bangs
Concert party at night
head pretty sore;

Quiet day; put off duty
as not felling so well
eye pretty troublesome
Went up to see Pat
poked muck at me for
what I had said under
the "dope"

Wrote Mrs Branch

Rest Camp band played
outside hospital, some
very good selections too.
SEPTEMBER, 1918.
Monday 30
Quiet morning, convoy
came in about 2.30, got
orderers no to leave ward as
there were some orders for
194 menl, went inside &
was warned to draw
our Kits immediately.
After tea the South Africans
gave us a concert: pretty
rough too, but one did not
appreciate things like that
on the eve of departure.
OCTOBER, 1918.
Tuesday 1
Left 14th A.G.H. at 10.30 and
caught train fromKantara Port Said about
11.30 and proceeded
to Moascar arriving
about 3; and went
to camp in "A details"
Saw some of the boys
Went round before I left
and said au revoir
to all the "Cobbers"
Great excitement before
leaving ''[[Town?]]" was
wildly excited.
Old 'Pat' was quite pathetic
Had stitches removed (4)
just before leaving hospital.
