got leave for Cairo.
Sent Clarrie in some
money.
Had to go on emergency
guard 11.30.
Wrote "Humph"

Got news of move: packed
up as much as possible
and got a few things
from the canteen prior
to departure.
1917 FEBRUARY
10 Sat
Left El Arish treking for
the West: was on trough
guard; & went to Brs
Brigade & missed Major
Greenwood but saw
Sgt Moore.
Went onto "Kilo 139" &
camped the night: saw
Billy Campbell.
11 Sun
Left "139" early & treked to
Mazar & stayed the night.
left the [[Inor?]]. Reg there.
FEBRUARY 1917
12 MonQuiet day: onpicquet at night
Trekked from Mazar to
Tilul & waited there
the rest of the night: had
a heavy shower of rain
on picquet.
13 TuOut for field firingduring the dayhad some good practice.
Left Tilul early & proceeded
to Bir-el-Abd
arriving there about 4.
Stayed the night.
Saw same good Charlie Chaplin
pictures, bought stores

Left Bir-el-Abd for
Bayud: arriving there
& relieving some Yeomanry
Camped on our own.

in morning, parade

party: did some washing
for leave.

- the 1.50 from Kantara
Stayed at Anzac Hostel
Went round to Mme
Piot's for dinner: struck
party in full swing
Met Vyner & Dean.

Got a few things for the boys
in the morning: had
photo taken at Zola's. took
taxi to Mrs Branch's
for dinner, went out to Heliopolis
for afternoon tea, &
back to Mme Piot's for dinner
at night
pictures afterwards.

Went for spin to Pyramids
with Mrs Rickenden: Robbs
Jack Kay. & had tea at the
"Anzac" and called round
at "Zolas" proofs of my photos
Caught the 6.15 to Kantara,
Stayed at the Empire Club till
next morning

Left Kantara for Bir el
Abd, then onto Bayŭd
