Revaille at 3AM saddled
horses and left Romani
for Hod- el Sagia: & camp
the day. got orders to proceed
onto Bir-Ayuli a Turkish
outpost at 8.30 all night
travelling

Sunday 11
Owing to dense fog were
unable to find Turkish
Camp had a bit of a
brush with enemy
got two horses hit. had
very hot day and practically
no water. got back to Oghratina
late.

Wrote Home & Jess (19)

Arrived at Oghratina at
3 AM. camped there during

Left Oghratina for Bir-el Abd
at 11. arriving there at 4 P.M.

Arrived at Bir el Abd at
4 am. the Turks had
"imshied" we returned as
far as Hod-el-Dìtabes
for breakfast, Oghratina for
dinner and returned
to Romani at 9.30 all
dead beat

Got paid £1-10

Church parade in morning
13 of our planes made a
raid on El Arish dropping
88 bombs; they flew right over
our camp on their way out

Easy day were warned to
go out on a stunt. got 3 feeds
for horse & self.

Left Romani at 2 30 arriving
at Oghrabina where we
camped all day.

Stayed at Oghratina, as old
Mundallie got sick was
in charge of the water

Friday 23
Spent day & night at
Oghratina: the regiment
came back after a long day
looking for a wrecked
aeroplane
Returned back to Romani
at night

Saturday 24
Very quiet day. was warned
to go to The Imperial School of Instruction
at Zeitoun.
JUNE, 1916.
Sunday 25
Got up at stand to arms
and went across to RailHead
caught the train to
Kantarah, walked about
1½ miles from terminus
of the line to the Suez Line
Had a swim in the canal
as soon as we arrived.
Caught train to Cairo
and arrived at 2.30 came
straight out to School
of Instruction Zeitoun
not feeling at all well

Monday 26
Revaille at 4 30; parade
5. 30: hours from 5-7 to
9-12, and then from 5-7
again, was too crook to
attend the class in the
evening.

Tuesday 27
Paraded sick, and
got some medicine and
had to go to dentist
at the No 3 Aust General
Hospital Abassia and
had tooth extracted
and went out to it.
Jaw very sore.
Wrote home No 7 51

Feeling a good deal
better, wrote up lectures
and parts of the gun at
night
JUNE, 1916.
Thursday 29
Attended classes all day
and went down to
Heliopolis to take some
films and got them
developed and printed
also posted some letters.
