Revaille at 2 30 all
day stunt with the
Squadron was scout
all the way out, horses
all day without water
we were quite close to
the coast all the time
got some curios.
Got a good Warwick Yeo
badge at Hamashia

fatigues

Alec went away to hospital

6th left Romani for

in their place

Got word to get ready
for a big stunt

Left Romani at 11.30 and acted
as Camel guard to Romani.
going all night, arrived
at Ogratina at 9.30 next morning
and camped there the day
and left there at 9.30, & proceeded
to Hod-Dêbâbis

Wednesday 31
Arrived Hod Dêbâbis just at
daylight, waited there till the
N.Z. M. Rifles, turned up from
Bir-el -Abd; where they
had an encounter with
an outpost; we then we
went on to Ogratina and
waited there till the Mounted
Rifles again caught us up.
then we proceeded on back
to Romani where we arrived
at 11.30.
JUNE, 1916.
Thursday 1
Stood to arms at usual
times, just getting breakfast
when Taube came over the
camp, got our horses and
cleared out, dropped 7
bombs; doing a good deal
of damage to 3rd L.H killing
10 & wounding 15; men and
killing 36 horses. day very
warm.

Friday 2
After lost horses from
the Taube raid. a lot
got back. Outpost at night
in charge of a post.

Saturday 3
Y.M.C.A erected near our
camp; very convenient
rather hot during the day

Squadron inlying picquet
down in palms all day.
Taube flew over.
