SEPTEMBER, 1916. Wednesday 6 Down in palms during day, found some beautiful ripe ones. Jack Robbo cut my haw: Roger McKinnon came down to see me. SEPTEMBER, 1916. Thursday 7 morning; section quiet to pavim; changed going a mate duties so he could go; not peeling up to dicks. Wrote Gussic + M Thomas.
SEPTEMBER, 1916. Friday 8 Water Guard all day with Ronnie Marsh, pretty busy day. Letters from Mother 2. Thes 3 Jess. Sadie Los. Helen. SEPTEMBER, 1916. Saturday 9 Left Roman at 8.30 for Mahoncedir: + caugh Herscilary Thrain to Port Said: pelowing the coas regor to Pollsaid bivised the Canal i. nigger boat; & went straight to Continental Hotel, + booked roomns. and then wanred about + bought things per the boys.

Monday 11 0 Got up early to calch hai back to Mahancder but found the leve was wasted away. so had t wait bell 12 acoase back via Kanara. arrived home late: got papers from Lov. Thes. & Kileys.
SEPTEMBER, 1916. Tuesday 12 Nothing much doing the section went nown for aswim but I did not feel like one. Wrote Lucie. SEPTEMBER, 1916. Wednesday 13 Cleaned up all M.G. ammuniteon in carriers in preparation for stent got paid 30/, wen over to canteen + bough some stores. Wrote Mollie.
105 SEPTEMBER, 1916. Thursday 14 guied day: nothing doing: preharing for steet. Water guard all day; nn concert at night. SEPTEMBER, 1916. Friday 15 Tharked out at 615 for a long stunt and travelled right throughout the night woven at Oghrakine we nod to walk and lead the horses a long way. The night was beautiful clear moonlightnice & warm: but doward morning aheav dew feel & made us all damp & craming Whote Home oess FS.
SEPTEMBER, 1916. Saturday 16 Watered up at Biv-el. Abd alovel 6oclock & camped there the day. very not indeed; & no hade except what we put up for ourselves: was on prcqeret at night Tonie & Hlec got their corns Saw agood air fight. but neither planes were he as for as we could see them. SEPTEMBER, 1916. 23th after Friniy. Sunday 17 Started off from Der el-Abd at 130 Am: & went due east to Salmarna; arriving there at 3.30, we watered up there and wbed bill daybreak; & started off again + travelled hell we got within 2 miles of Mazaar: arriving at Gocloc & waited there bill the 3rd Irigade passed in coming back, from the scrap, bringing several prisoners & comets our casualities were very light Killed -Pwounded; a tuhe flewoner but didnot lay any eggs, we went back to Sir-d Abd that night wabering up at Salmana at 10.30 & had a good sleep.

when at Oghratina we had
to walk and lead the
horses a long way.
The night was beautiful
clear moonlight & nice &
warm: but towards morning
a heavy dew fell & made
us all damp & craving

Watered up at Bir-el.-Abd about
6 oclock & camped there the
day. very hot indeed; & no
shade except what we
put up for ourselves; was
on picquet at night
Lonie & Alec got their "coins"
Saw a good air fight: but
neither planes were hit as
far as we could see them.
SEPTEMBER, 1916.
Sunday 17
Started off from Bir-el-Abd
at 1.30 Am: & went due east
to Salmarna; arriving
there at 3.30, we watered
up there and waited till
daybreak; & started off
again; & travelled till we
got within 2 miles of
Mazaar: arriving at 9 oclock
& waited there till the 3rd
Brigade passed us coming
back, from the scrap, bringing
several prisoners & camels
our causalities were very light
1 Killed -10 wounded; a Taube
flew over but did not lay any
eggs: we went back to Bir-el-Abd
that night watering up at Salmarna
at 10.30 & had a good sleep.
