7 VENDREDI.
Very heavy snow in morning. It lies nearly a foot thick.
Towards midday however the sun came out
and it turned out a beautiful clear day.
I went out at 2. 1.40. there had been a snow plough
along the tram track so I was able to walk along it
to the bottom of the hill via the old porte Beauvoisne
I turned to the left to go to St Godard's but should
have turned into Rue Beauvoisne instead of which I
came out at the Place Boulingrin. I walked back
as far as the top of Hill - by which time the trams which
had been suspended on account of the snow started
running. I was glad enough to hop on one. Got
back to hospital about 3.10. Read a wire from Div
saying they cannot send a car for me until
Wednesday. Quite a good night Slept quite well
until 4.a.m. Froze very hard during night.

from the Hotel de Ville. Got back at 3.p.m.
Spent afternoon writing to Evy &c. Had
