Feel very unwell. These repeated attacks are very discouraging
Sat in the sun in the hotel grounds until 11. Then rested in
my sitting rooms until lunch.
In afternoon motored to Monte Carlo with Cols. Fullerton
and Prichard. We went with the idea there was a concert at
the Casino but found it was a Comedy. We only sat out part
of one act and then returned to the Hotel. After afternoon tea
I went to my room - did not go out again but felt a
bit better towards evening.

7 MARDI.
Set in a soaking wet day. Not liking the idea
of being shut up in the hotel all day. Col
Fullerton and I caught the. train about 10 a.m
from Mentone to Nice. Where we arrived about 10.
11. Walked down Rue de la Gard. looking at the
shops. This is a fine boulevard. Went out on the
promenade but the rain came down in torrents
We walked as far as the Hotel NEGRESCO, where we
had lunch. On way back went into a very fine
magazine where I bought a spoon as a souvenir for
Maud. also went into another to purchase some medal
ribbon. Caught the 3.37. p.m back a miserably
slow journey we did not get in until 5.30. there
were no cabs or trains so we walked back to Cap Martin.
Notwithstanding the bad weather we had a nice quiet
day. Fullerton is a good chap and like myself is out
for a quiet time, so we get on well together
