CIRCULAR MEMORANDUM :
"1914" FURLOUGH TO AUSTRALIA.
With reference to my 114/8/29 of 29th instant; it is
notified that transport accommodation is now available to enable
60 officers and 1,674 Other Ranks to proceed from the Australian
Corps on "1914" furlough to Australia.
The allotment contained in my memo referred to is,
therefore, cancelled, and the following substituted :-

Selection will be strictly confined to those who embarked
from Australia in 1914 and who have not since been back to that
country. Any formation which is unable to fill its quota will,
as early as possible, report accordingly by telegram to these
Headquarters.
Chaplains and Medical Officers will not be considered in
the selection of personnel to fill the above allotment - as
separate arrangements are being made for them.
The concentration of these troops will be commenced
immediately.

All Units in the vicinity of Peronne and East of that town
will arrange for their personnel to report to the Australian
Corps Reinforcement Camp, La Chapallette, on the 3rd proximo,
from whence they will march to the Corps Furlough Depot, Bray,
On the following day. All other Units and Formations will
send their personnel to report to Corps Furlough Depot, Bray,
on the 4th proximo.
Officers will take with them their complete kits.
Other Ranks will proceed fully equipped, but will not take
arms or ammunition. It is to be borne in mind that, in addition
to one blanket, troops will carry one waterproof sheet and one
pair of colour patches per man - and full establishment of mess
gear, i.e., water-bottle, mess tin, plate, knife, fork and spoon.
In this connection it is remarked that many Officers in preceding
drafts have failed to provide themselves with the necessary mess
gear.
Nominal Rolls in Quadruplicate will be handed in by Units to
MAJOR R. A. RAMSAY, Australian Corps Furlough Depot, BRAY.
Australian Corps Reinforcement Camp will ration the party
prior to entrainment.
