JULY—CASH MEMORANDA.

7th acting No 2 on gun in
No 2 pit
Large No of horse lines & horses on
Nibrunesi point & on other side
of Suvla Bay. Areoplane with
workshops on this side seem
to be a good No of tents
Appts Sgt Major Moon, Sgt Jamminson Sgt
Lister, Cpl Phillips
we did not hold 971 but lines
close to it, some important
positions held dont know exact
line, we attacked at later
date 22nd Aug. and took all
objectives, bases well established
at mouth of Salt Lake also at
Nibrunesi Point, saw aeroplane
areoplane's do a lot of scouting work
Prisoners taken during the attack
about 700 odd. Turks attacked
Lonesome Pine tried to retake it
but we held in spite of all.
They also attacked in massed
formation on left flank but
the men-o-war got on to them
as well as our artillery & infantry
they left 6000 dead, complete
failure of attack.
