Dear Mother 
Just a line to let you  
that we are still in camp 
yet, we are expecting to 
get orders to leave at any  
minuite for the Old Country 
I left you 4 Shillings per 
day out of my pay we are 
only to have 5 Shilling 
per and one shilling per 
day deferred pay they 
hay chopped our wages 
down one shilling per 
day So you can take two 
shilling per day for 
yourself and put two 
Shilling per day in the 
Bank for me for when

I come home from the war I 
will be having a good holiday 
I have made an order for my 
wages to be made payable at 
the Commonwealth Bank in 
London So that you will have 
No difficulty in drawing your 
money Now Mother I wrote 
to the Mission at Stockton and 
asked to have my letters all 
forwarded on to my home 
address at Bertram St  Now there 
will be one important letter 
that I want you to take take 
of for me there are some Tickets 
in the letter for the Tasmanian 
Lottery and I might have a 
prize in my Numbers So Take 
Care of them till I get home 
Now Mother I wrote to you last 
week telling you about that three 
pound that the post Master 
at Stockton was forwarding three 
pound on to you Now Mother 
I think that I will now draw 
to a close hoping that this will 
find you and Annie in good health 
as it leaves me at present and 
with love to you and Annie
