After a spending a very
happy month at Malta I left

Colonials entrained for Cairo at
9.30 p.m. & arrived at our
destination at daybreak on
Tuesday morning. Since then
I have been in a detail camp
at Zeitoun Mr. Fisher arranged
for me to go to Ismailia for him,
this gave me an opportunity of
seeing the unit at Tel-el-Kebir
where I received a nice batch of
letters from Gar. Have enjoyed
myself since coming to this camp
more than I expected to do having
met several old friends namely
Mr Fisher, Gar, Lillie McGurk, Rev.
Burridge, etc Sam Jones. Have made
several attempts to obtain permission
to rejoin my unit at Tel-el-Kebir
so far unsuccessful. I am now
waiting a reply to my Colonel
application to H.Qrs. for me.
During my stay here this time
DECEMBER January 1916 191528 TUESDAY
