JUNE Mudros 6th Month 1915
I7 THURSDAY
We have not had much
to do today. 50 more
patients came along this
evening & brought the number
up to 440 odd. We are taking
up to 600.
I wrote to Mother & Ethel today
&posted them.

18 FRIDAY
More patients were admitted
today making a total of over
500.
Gar & I have decided to
read a chapter of the Bible & have
prayers together each night. We
think it will be a great help to
us both. We hope to get Bert
Garland to come in with us.

19 SATURDAY
Uneventful

20 SUNDAY
We have not had the opportunity
of attending any service today.
This evening at big batch of
patients arrived & we were very
busy.

21 MONDAY
More patients came along
this morning & this evening
100 convalescents were transferred
to No 24 C.H. I going in for
a dip every day & I am getting
on well at swimming. We
received our long expected
mail today & it was very welcome.
I received letters from Vera, Jean
Bella, Ethel, Mr & Mrs Christie & a
lovely letter from Mother. Sir
General Sir Ian Hamilton was
around here inspecting this
morning. & Puss nearly burst
his Tunic when he pushed out
his chest to shake hands

22 TUESDAY
More patients were admitted
today & another 25 convalescents
transferred to 24 C.H. R.A.M.C.
JUNE Mudros 6th Month 1915
23 WEDNESDAY
Another batch of about 60
patients were admitted into our
hospital today. So we were kept
busy handling kits all day.
We are having real Australian
weather here.

24 THURSDAY
This morning we were very busy
handing out kits of men for the
base. About 100 went down.
Another mail was delivered
today. I received two letters from
home. I have written today to
Mother Ethel Claire P. & Mrs Christie
I mentioned about Dad to Mother.

This evening a service was
held close to the windmills
at the top of our hospital.

28 MONDAY
I sent a F.S.P.C. to mother
tonight. This evening Clyde H
& Fred Penhall stayed with
us for bible reading & prayers.
Fred has been with us 3 or 4
night now.

29 TUESDAY
I have been making a
folding table today for
the operating theatre.
Charlie Cowper was coming
in to our meeting tonight
but was busy with operations.

1 THURSDAY
I have written today to
mother Ethel & Uncle Bob.
Allan & Charlie Cowper joined
us in our meeting. I met George
Keay this afternoon on the Jetty.

2 FRIDAY
A Good number of patients were
admitted tonight. George Keay
came along but we were too
busy to see him for very long.
I did not get to bed until
midnight tonight. I was assisting
with an operation on A Lieu Commamder.
A Naval Officer who was hit in
the foot with a 6" shell

4 SUNDAY
A lot of men have been
transferred & discharged today.
This evening I went to a service
conducted by Capt. McKenzie of
the Salvation Army. Fred Penhall
came with me. Capt W McKenzie
came down to our tent tonight
but we were unable to have
our usual meeting because
a lot of patients had to be
admitted, The Capt repeated
a few verses & prayed for us.
JULY Mudros 7th Month 1915
5 MONDAY
We have been kept
busy today checking
kits. Major Barber
has been around
inspecting Tents.
