We will get to the front. Apparently things are

going very slowly, but our people seem to be

Keeping their end up all right.

Ive heard a rumour today that our 2nd

contingent has been disbanded owing to typhoid

breaking out. It doesnt reconcile with our

previous information that they were already

on the way here.

Saturday 19th

Theres nothing to write about today, we are working

pretty hard & are still wondering where our

letters have all got to.

Sunday 20th

Went to town yesterday afternoon & had a

pretty good time. Went to the Casino after

dinner Its a fine place & the girls looked bonny 

This morning Church Parade & March Past

the Brigadier.

Monday 21st

Have started a further step in our Training

today Occupying an area about 2 miles away in

the sand. When we stop for lunch natives

seem to pop up out of the sand with fruit &

tomatoes. Oranges here are splendid & so are

tomatoes Dates are good too.

Tuesday 22nd
Had a letter today from Olive dated 1st

Nov. It was just O.K. getting it as we may

get some more very shortly. Please thank

her & g with my love.

Wednesday

Nothin doin Saw Mrs & Miss Hobbs in

town tonight & fell over them for news of

W.A.

Thursday 24th

Cant realize its Christmas Eve & am

thinking a good deal about you all. How

about some of you coming up here for a

 holiday.

Friday Christmas Day

A fine Xmas present 4 letters two from

you mother latest 9th Nov & one Madeleine

& Mildred Baby It was just grand & I hope they

will come along regularly from this on

Will post now to catch the mail

& say more about today in my next.
