My Darling Daughter Shirley,
I am very well & I
am very pleased that you are all well at
Home. I am very sorry that Tish
doesnt like me & I will be sorry that
she will not have tea & toast with me.
I think she will forgive me. I will
write her a letter.
You are getting quite a clever girl
with your sewing. I am very proud
of you I hope you get a prize at the show.
I hope Bardys sewing turns out well.
Jeannette has been good to wipe up
the breakfast things before she went to
school. I hope you & Bardy still wash & wipe
up after tea.
You would look nice with
your hair curled. I will be hoping to see you
like that when I get Home. Brian & Billy
are good boys & they do like playing with
the blocks. I expect Tish is still the
tease she has always been.
The native boys are out on the
road singing "You are my Sunshine," It
sounds alright.

My Dear Shirley,

your loving letter. I am very
pleased that you are well again.
I am very proud that you &
Bardy both got Certificates for
your Sunday School work. You
three girls would look nice done
up as roses. I also hope that you
both had a good time at the
picnic. I was pleased that you
both put something in the show.
Aunty Beryl will be pleased to
get a pot holder from you.
The other [[nips]] were lucky to
get their new shoes & ribbons &
they would look nice.
The native boys are very
interested when I make the bread.
They stand & watch & chatter among
themselves. When it comes out of the
oven they chatter some more & say
it is just the thing.

My Dear Shirley,
Thank you for your
loving letter which I received on Friday.
I hope that your nose hasnt been
bleeding again. You dont know how
pleased and proud I was to learn that you
had won a prize at the Exhibition.
It is nice to know that you still
wash up for Mum. It does help
her.
Yes Tish is a little pest at times
but you all get like that at times. Even me.
Brian would have a lot of fun trying to
catch the spider. I am afraid the boys
arent very happy as they all want to get
back Home. Whatever was Bardy doing
cuddling up like that. Surely it wasnt
cold. Is Jeanette still a good girl.
I noticed that your letter was a lot
better this time. In fact it was very good.
I will write some of the words the
natives use, after I finish this so now

My Dear Shirley.
Thank you for your loving
letter which I received yesterday.
So you have got some silkworms.
They are funny but very interesting.
You will have a good time unrolling the
silk off them. I think Mum was very good
to go up to Grandmas & ask about the Ice
cream churn. I am sorry that Trish has
been so sick, also Nancy & Neil.
Softball must be a very good game
I shall have to learn it when I get
back.
I wonder who it could have been who
knocked the clock down off Nobody I
expect.
I hope you did well in your exams I
will be waiting to hear the result. It was
a very good spelling paper you sent up.
Mum has a busy time with your
hair & also with the others. Barbara & you
should be ashamed that you were so
naughty, but it is only now & again isnt it.
I hope you look helped look after the
others when you were on the train going to
Au?? Aunt Nellies also that you will be
a good girl & help Mum & Aunt Nelly.
