My Darling Daughter Shirley,
I was so pleased to receive your
loving letter today & to learn that you are all well
I am trying to get you a ring, but so far have had
no luck.
I'll bet Mum was wild with Terry King. He does
misbehave himself, doesn't he!
You will have a good time when you get
Uncle Oss' parcel & also the one from me.
Do you like drill? When I went to school I
didnt like it & I still dont like it.
Mum told me what a naughty girl you had
been after Sunday School. I didnt think you
would do that after you promised me. Never mind
I am sure you wont do it again.
You were lucky to get a new pad from
School. The library book should be very good. It
has a nice title
Yes my love I am sure you will give
me a big Hug & a Kiss when I come home. Meantime
be a good girl & help Mummy all you can.
I will close with the fondest of love &
x a big Kiss to you & the others. Give Mum a big Kiss
for me. Your loving Daddy
Jim

My Darling Daughter Shirley,
Thank you for your two
letters which I received on Sunday. I bet you
were excited when Aunty Nell Nelly arrived
Tish is a little rascal isnt she. I'll bet
Brian cried when he found his book cut. You
were lucky to get some ribbon. I knew
Jeanette would like the book I sent
her. Uncle Oss was very good to send
you a parcel with the lollys. I expect
you wanted to eat them straight away
Mum told me that you went to
Nattogin with her. She said you must have
put one over her as your sore throat got
better so quickly Never mind you were a
good girl & looked after Tish so Mum would
forgive you. You were lucky to get a new
dress & Sandals.
Well my Dear I think I have told
you everything so wel will close with fond
Love & Kisses to you & to the others & please give
Mum a big Hug & a Kiss for me.

My Darling Shirley,
Thank you for your loving letter
which I received the other day. I hope that your
foot is all right again. Mummy told me what a brave
girl you were when you went to the Hospital & I am
very proud with you.
I am sorry I havent been able to get you a
ring. You may have to wait till I get Home. If
so I will get you a nice one then.
You are still a good girl & still wash up for
Mum. I am very pleased. I hope you enjoyed the
Pictures. Brian & Jeanette were naughty to have the
apples. The white blouse & skirt would look very
nice. Mum told me what a good test you did
the last time I am pleased you are doing well at
school. I also hope that you are looking after
Tish & that you & Barbara dont fight.
Well my Dear I will close with lots of
Love to you all & a big kiss for you all & give
Mum a big hug & Kiss for me.
Love from your Loving Dad
