Aif. -
Dearest darling,
Well beautiful
wife I suppose you're doing
a fair amount of wondering
and a fair amount of worrying
but I could not write sooner
and this letter if you look
at the above date will
be sometime reaching you,
but so will the next after
this, but I know you understand.
At present Im feeling pretty
good, the heat is pretty
bad but thats to be
expected I suppose,
I really don't know what

to write about, except that
darling I love you and I do
hope your confidence in
me and your love for me
is sufficient to offset any
doubts you may have for my
welfare, for honey I can
assure you I am OK.
How are everyone at home
and our dear babies, gee
they seem such a long way
away, I can see them just
as plainly though and miss
them awful bad, I often
wonder whether in their
minds they think of me not
saying anything but thinking
As you have said they
forget pretty quickly
Went to the pictures last

night, "Bachelor Mother" was
on and it was g a good show
but an old one, prewar I
think.
Well honey this letter was
never intended to enlighten
you further that will
come later, I assure you
as soon as I am able I
will let you know what
exactly is happening
Meantime know that I
love you dearly and am
well and hoping you are
loving me and everyone
home is OK.
Cheers honey your old man
is thinking of you
Forever
Col
