Dearest darling,
Just a few lines honey
written during the dinner break, I have
quite a bit of work on hand and have
been fairly busy.
Since writing last we've nearly completed
a butcher's shop (looks like fresh meat
coming in) done the picture theatre, and
started on an oil burning incinerator
for burning refuse. We have some more
building to do so will probably be
confined to these parts for a few days.
Havn't had any more trips myself but
the lads have done one and have
also done some stretcher carrying, bringing
in wounded.
We certainly have a variety of jobs.
Anyway our Major said we are the most
willing Plattoon here, never complained
and alway ready to assist and do
jobs that crop up, and he is pretty

pleased with us.
Well darling I am well and apart
from the rain which seems to be setting
in, we are pretty comfortable here, just
behind the lines. The nip still sneaks
about after dark and although he
hasn't caught anyone for a day or two
we still maintain our security
Remember I love you dearly and am
thinking of you constantly. I expect to
write a good letter tomorrow though
all being well.
So with that in view I'll say cheerio
and fond regards to all at home
Love to our babies and big kisses for
them both.
I have a whopper butterfly here which
I'll send to Valerie they are very pretty
and I think she'll like it.
Cheerio again dear wife all my love
X X
