May 2.

Darling wife,

Hullo honey I understand you love me

quite a bit, well I too love you considerable. xx

Well its May 2nd but it just as well may be

April 2 as I am not able to tell you any

of the late news. I suppose you already know

considerable and are waiting for my particular

part.

Anyhow that will come a bit later I hope.

I am well and well, p'raps not so happy or

comfortable but that's nothing everyone is the

same I guess.

Next Sunday is Mothers day well here I only

can wish you lots of love and Happy returns

again.

I heard the Germans have chucked it in and

they tell me of possible new landings by

the British, Im certainly glad about that, although

at the time we weren't in a position

for rejoicing.

This book is an "aquired" one and good paper

for writing on, the pencil isn't the best

but it makes a mark.

May 3, Well today I love you just as ever,

its just 6:30 and we had boiled duck

for tea, the boys have been on the scrounge

and they have 3 fowls 2 pigs on cooking now

it was certainly a funny sight, we heard

some squeals and along the track walks 2

fellars with 2 pigs hanging on a stick, that

was 10 mins ago - now, the pigs are being

cooked,

The cooking arrangements arn't the best but

they manage to get them fixed oK., The

old mossie is pretty active in these parts, and

is a lot of other crawlies and wogs, I have been

bitten, mostly at night by a few but if a bump

comes up it goes away in the daytime,

We had some rain here yesterday and today

but the sun seems to keep coming up, and

sweating is the order of the day.

I washed a pair of sox this afternoon and

as it was raining, hung them in front of a fire

to dry, (too close) result burnt a hole, I

could get my hand through,

I've mended it since, took me 'bout an hour

but I'm a good hand at darning sox.

My Birthday parcel hasnt arrived as yet, but

thats not to be wondered at under the

circumstances, I hope it arrives pretty soon

Today though I received your telegrams/May 3

so you've an idea how it is, and also

I received 2 letters no 16 and 18 so I am

pretty happy, one also came from mum xx,

That is the first mail Ive received since

a week before my birthday.

Things are certainly moving round these parts

and were I allowed to write freely I could

write something new every 5 minutes,

Well darling I am closing here and if I

have the opportunity tomorrow I shall answer

your letters, though don't forget I know just

what you want; news! me too,

so anyhow cheerio honey know that I am OK

am definitely on the right side of the fence

and fortunately will stay there.

All my love for our babies and to everyone

home,

For you darling I am thinking of you constantly

loving you continually,

xxxxxx

Lovingly Yours

Forever

Col
