Dear darling wife
Just a line
or two in a hurry on
route I'll have no more
than ten minutes so I can
not give you much to read
The main reason for my writing
is to tell you I love you, I've
wanted to do that since
leaving Brissy
And truly honey twas quite a
while before I went to sleep
last night on the top
sleeping berth nearest to car
roof and it wasn’t only the
heat that kept me awake
for I could not but help

think of you, of how much I
love you and of the few
minutes we spent together on
the Station, I shall always
remember you. So beautiful
so quiet with a fiery resolve
in you not to cry I could
see that, Gee honey I may
have said often that I loved
you I may have said that, it
was never greater but when
I remember you on that
platform I know, my whole

body & heart knows that
you mean more to you me
then all else in this world.
So then darling I shall be

able to write you a decent

letter in 3 or 4 days and

then better to tell you of

my love for you.

All the biggest kisses for

you from your old man

love to our babies and

to every one home my best

regards maybe it wont even
 over 1

be as long as we think

God willing it wont

Cheerio then please excuse

now for we're away in

a few minutes according

to the clock

XXXXXX Yours forever

darling,
X X X X Col
