Darling,
Hullo honey, here I am
again to answer a couple more
of your letters, I received one
today No and it kept me busy
for quite a while dreaming
about you, I guess you'd Know
I love you darling, and thats
a fact, XX
Not any news for you, we had
heavy rain last night, and
we were able to catch a drumful
of water for showering off
the tent, 45 gallons we caught
in about half an hour, so
we'll have rainwater to wash
in for a fair while,
It's still hot and muggy and

we do a fair bit of sweating
normally I don't sweat very much
but I sure turn it on these
days, I think I must be
putting on weight, sort of feel
it.
No 7. - - It seems that the fooling
is not confined to our family
and you certainly copped your
share at Nell's place, it sure
is catchy though, I'll never
ever forget our first night
home, Saturday night after we
were married, remember? We
slept in Mum's bedroom? Well -
if I wasn't on tenderhooks
that night, If the roof had
fallen in, to me it wouldnt
have been totally unexpected,
and there we were crouched

beneath the window, trying to
get the dam thing closed.
Boy what a night.. finished
up putting the wardrobe up
against the door, and it
wasn't till the early hours of
the morning that peace reigned
through the house.
The quality of being able to take
a joke makes you susceptable
honey especially as you react
so well to them.
Well I caught a couple of
coves "April fools" day, sent them
officers on various errands,
told one he had to report
to BHQ immediately, & cover
he went in a rush, I
didn't wait till be came
back, I off, leaving a big

card on my bed "APRIL FOOLS DAY"
Some joke but he took it OK.
I shall send most of my photos
home honey they get soiled &
dirty and the dampness gets
into them, making them Mildewy
I shall only keep one of you
and of the babies.
Well you say I havn't had much
in the letter line that week
but by gee I'm having them
now. I missed out for the
entire trip over but now, I'm
in luck every mail, good for
the morale, and the memory
And I love you for it darling
honest you mean every minute
of the day to me loving you
is an obession with me and
it controls, dominates every single

thing, every thought in my head
asleep or awake you're with
me continuously, thinking, dreaming,
wondering, revelling, in
the memories you gave me to
keep during our absence from
eath each other.
No 8, and you are home again,
and my lucks in 'cause there
were 3 letters there from me,
Well I can tell you now, about
the train trip back from
leave We were not held up
anywhere but we didnt come
by the normal route as the
floods had washed a big
bridge down in Q, and
we had to go inland and
at one stage went very close
200 miles or so of "Alice Springs"

four days extra travel, but
as (if you remember I touched
lightly on the hospitality of
the country folk in an earlier
letter, as troop trains seldom
go that way we were entertained
to a royal feast at
every meal halt, I signed
autographs galore.
Now again I didn't have to
go right back to the old camp
because I met the unit
on the way down all ready
to come x up here, so I
stayed there and got a new
issue of most of my gear
equipment and so on, the
rest went to Kit Store, (the
batty fixed that up,
and, - I packed my case
