Dear Chickaboo,
I have been told that you
are not getting any chocies now -
never mind when I come home again I
will bring plenty big big chocies, but
don't eat too many mulberries or you
will be ill.
So Sandy has a new baby
brother! Is he a nice baby? Does
Mummy read you stories from your books?
Did you get the box of
strawberries that I had sent from Brisbane?
Were they nice? Would you like some
more ?
Don't forget to say your
prayers at night when you go to bidey boo.
Here is a Dollar Bill as a curio.
Night night Chickaboo

Dear Chickaboo,
I have just heard that you
have been out to Curra. Did you see
the Baa lambs and the Moo Cow's and
Gee gees?
And Dib and Darb have gone
to Ipswich. Oh well. What is the name
of your Doll; you have never told me?
Is she a good Dollie? I hope she does
not cry or bite
I hope that you have not
eaten too many mulberries and made
yourself ill.
Have got any new story books?
Oh well never mind Mummie will get
you some. Did you get the chocolate that
Mummie sent you?
Night night Chickaboo

Dear Chickaboo,
Once more I have to write and
wish you a very happy Birthday instead of saying
it to you, however we will make up for it in the
Birthdays of the future.
I have sent you a coconut money
box which will intrigue you for awhile and some
American coins, I am afraid that was all I could
find that I thought you might like. Possibly Mummie
will be able to get some chocolate for you and some
ice cream.
Mummies Birthday is on the 20th.
so I am sending you a Postal note for one pound,
so you will be able to buy Mummie something for her
Birthday and buy her and yourself a 'big big' chocolate.
This Birthday and Christmas you
will be in another new home, one that I hope will be
more permanent than others you have been in and
when I come home I will walk up and down the
verandah with you and if you are not too heavy I
will carry you and you can put your head upon
my shoulder and I will sing (?) you to sleep. But
speaking of verandahs - be very careful of the
verandah rails because I would be very sad if you
fell off the verandah.
This letter has taken quite a while to write
because all my pals have been talking and having
a cup of tea.
I am tired to night because I did not sleep
too well last night, so this years letter is going to be
very short.
Poor [[Arfie?]] is along way away from me
and must be feeling very very sorry tonight
Well I will go to 'bidies' now Chickaboo
and I will send you a lot of big kisses on Friday
week.
Cheero.
Daddie.
