26/5/42   SE. squally and   Service flying boat left soon after
    overcast.   daybreak. Lieut Palmer left for
        Darwin en route Brisbane by Quantas
  At anchor in Port Langdon   flying boat at about 1400 hrs, carrying
      safe hand mail for Darwin and
Townsville.
Afternoon overcast and squally. At 14
a heavy rain squall from the SE passed
to westward of ship. Went ashore to
Gray's Camp and arranged with Gray to
hold 26 cases .50 calibre ammunition
stored until my return.
Made written report by safe hand to
Advance Headquarters
  Wet squally night. Brought Norforce, on the refusal of Hempel,
  natives of detachment aboard Control Officer at the Flying Boat Base
  preparatory to sailing to afford facilities in work on propeller
  tomorrow to search for lost and his defiance of impressment
  GANNET aircraft. order.
